Being a new mom can be very confusing. Mostly, you're thrilled to have this little bundle of joy, and watch him/her learn and grow. But sometimes we focus so much on our children that we sacrifice ourselves in the process.

It's just assumed that our children come first, no matter what - and of course they do. But what about you? So many things have changed. Forget going away for a weekend - sometimes it's hard to even just go get a haircut! You may have unhappy feelings about your body after having a baby, or you may feel disconnected or weird about your body now. Your relationship with your partner may have changed in a way that you weren't expecting. You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. All of these feelings are normal, but we as moms are expected to stifle them and instead just talk about how wonderful our new baby is - every coo, smile, and even poop.

I am a mom, a licensed mental health counselor and a registered yoga teacher. I use a unique blend of counseling, relaxation and breathing techniques, meditation, gentle yoga, and hypnotherapy techniques to help you relax, quiet your mind, and tune into your body's wisdom so that you can embrace being a mother more fully.
