Business description (provided by the business owner):

The Medford Family Network (MFN) of the Medford Public Schools is a free parenting education and family support program for families with children from birth through age 7, who live or work in Medford. We focus on the positive impact on the developmental process of these children through supporting the families who care for them. This is accomplished via parenting education workshops; discussion groups; age-specific playgroups; a new moms group; home visitation; family events; lending library of parenting books; drop-in playgroups; information and referral services; family literacy initiatives and individual consultation. There are programs for dads, grandparents, single parents, working parents, at-home parents, parents who speak other languages, and more. Programs are held at the Medford Family Network Family Center and at other sites around Medford - weekdays, evenings and Saturdays. Parent advisory and leadership roles are available and encouraged. All adults caring for young children are welcome!

The MFN is an *amazing* resource. Recently I took a health & wellness exercise class - 10 classes for 1.5 hours each, for free! The class was great, AND they had free babysitting. They had 3 wonderful women watching the children of the women in the class in the other half of the gym and a quiet room. My children *loved* the "playgroup" - children 6 months to 5 years old.

We've also really been enjoying the "Playgroups in the Park" - they have crafts, toys, circle time, and free play on the playground equipment. My children are 4.5 years old, but it seems to be a big hit with the entire 5 and under crowd!
