Hood River Kinderhaus offers preschool and parent-child classes based on the Waldorf approach to early childhood. Our holistic preschool program provides a gentle step from the home to school environment for children 2 - 5 years of age. Music, storytelling, gardening, bread baking, yoga, natural toys, organic meals, and outdoor play are all part of our daily life at Kinderhaus.
Our Waldorf~inspired preschool classes take place in a warm and nurturing setting Monday through Thursday 9am-1pm. We are also excited to offer our new Resting Stars Aftercare program daily from 1pm-5:30pm beginning Fall 09.

My son has attended Kinderhaus since he turned 2, in 2009. And now my 2 year old daughter has just started going. Jaime Main, her co-teacher Mareka, and her assistant Leila are three of the most kind, gentle, and patient women I know. They have created in Kinderhaus a loving and supportive environment that the children thrive in. They have a lovely rhythm that includes baking, yoga, painting, singing, with lots of play and imagination. My son and daughter look forward to going there every week.
Miss Jaime is certified in Waldorf early education and has a degree in early child development. She is amazing with the children. My children adore both Miss Mareka and Miss Leila. They are supportive, creative and really take joy in caring for the children. I highly recommend the school.

Ms Jaime and her beautiful Kinderhaus have been a true blessing to our family (and our community). My twins daughters adore their teacher, their school, and their friends, and I love the atmosphere of kindness and respect for children's natural development! Ms Jaime has a gift with children - her calm nature, attention to detail, focus on nature, seasons, rhythm - all these things support children's self-development, and I see them all thriving under her gentle yet purposeful direction.
