Hello, my name is Nina Shinkle. I run a state licensed in home child care facility located in Whiteland. We currently have two preschool positions available (18 months– 5 yrs) and we will have two more vacant spots in May.
I am working towards earning my Child Development Associate credential through Indiana’s Paths to Quality program. We are active participants in the state funded food program; we serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
We house ten weeks of toys that are rotated each week as well as two outside toy bins full of fun. Activities are based on the learning center approach to early childhood education. We use the Fireflies curriculum from Funshine Express; you can check it out here www.funshineexpress.com.
The environment is supportive, nurturing and predictable. It is also structured to promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Space is provided for developmental exploration, natural curiosity and spontaneity, which includes quiet as well as noisy activities.
Our goal is to serve children and families with a program that is developmentally appropriate and to provide opportunities for children to expand their world in a safe environment that challenges them to think, feel and explore to the greatest extent possible.
