While not a day care finder, the site aims to provide parents with a single resource for information about licensed child care in each of the 50 US states, as well as the provinces of Canada. For those just beginning their search for child care, I hope to educate them about the types of child care available to them and the differences between them (ie: Montessori vs traditional center-based vs home-based, etc). I hope to educate parents on their role as the consumer, the parent, and how they can become more involved in the care they and their children receive, and why that is so important to both the children and their care givers.
