The mission of Central Jersey Birth Services is to support women and families on their journey to birth. We view pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as a sacred rite of passage, and provide ritual, resource, and physical support to enliven this transformation. Blending ancient and modern birth arts, we inspire women and their partners to awaken to their intuition and voice as both baby and parents are born.

My job as your doula is to help you experience your best possible birth. I do not impose my own views, but help you understand all of your birth options and support your decisions. I walk beside you on your journey, taking the time to understand your fears surrounding the birth process and how we might work together to overcome them. All clients receive a gift package filled with items to inspire and support a healthy pregnancy.

Doula support package includes three prenatal visits and one postpartum visit. Each visit lasts for two and a half hours. I work with you to tailor three custom healing arts sessions to meet your needs. The following are tools that I use to customize a package for you.

Throughout your pregnancy and postpartum period, I am available to you via email and phone for questions and support. You will receive inspiring articles, passages, and cards throughout your pregnancy and postpartum period. I offer use of my lending library of books, DVDs, and music for birth. I am on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for two weeks before and two weeks after your estimated due date.

When labor begins I provide continuous support to you in your home or at the hospital. I use many of the tools listed above in addition to positioning, guided imagery, warm packs, cool compresses, mantras, and movement. At our follow-up visit, I present you with your child’s birth story.
