I have a "Can Do" Curriculum. Creating Self-Directed, Responsible, and Caring
Kids. Weekly lessons are taught with influences of Montessori and Reggio theories (I have been educated in both theories). I believe a mix of both is almost a perfect balance for a preschool age child. Children need the structure that Montessori lessons bring while still feeding their ever-growing curiosity and creativity that Reggio has to offers during our free play times. I feel it is important to teach children; self-esteem, expression of feeling, empathy to others, perseverance, responsibility, hope (goal setting) and problem-solving abilities - if they think they can't, I want to help them think they can. They can get all this, in addition to still having the comforts that feel like they are at home, and not in a big center.
