We did that for my son, but split it up and gave him 1-2 oz with the medicine, then gave him the rest of his bottle after he finished so we knew he got it all. His reflux improved a lot after he was switched to Prevacid solutabs.

Becareful putting it in the bottle with the formula. That method worked great with my first born, however, my second born wanted nothing to do with it. He refused to take a bottle for 1/2 after that...it was horrible. I think I tramatised him! I would try either a medacine pacifier and just put a little formula with meds, or just meds in it and then wash it down with a bottle. Or I just used a meds dropper and put it in my sons mouth and pointed it towards the back cheeks and squirted a little and let him cry, then did a little more. He eventually got used to it. We also switched him to soy formula and that seems to help with the reflux a little more too. Both of my kids had cereal in their bottles too, that also helped with the reflux. Once they hit the jar food, they were a lot better with the reflux and they didn't have to take the meds as much. Good luck with it!

You can mix it in with her formula. Best of luck to you I sympathize all 3 of my kids had reflux and were on multiple meds but it does get better the older they get and once they are on solid food. Take care.

Hello! My now 7 month old daughter took Zantac for a bit before switching to Prilosec. You can have your pharmacist flavor it for your baby girl and she should take it much better. If that doesn't help, our script said it could be taken with or without food, so I would assume mixing it with formula would be just fine! Hope that helps!

yes as long as she drinks the whole thing it will be good to go. most kids nor babies like the taste. one other way which most don't like is you can aim the dabber towards the back of the throat and force her to swallow it. or disguise it by flavoring it with different things till you get one she likes. Apple juice, grape juice, chocolate, fruit punch juice.

I can't imagine what it is like for a child to go home to heaven at such a young age. My prayers and thoughts go out to you.
If you would like to use something for her that is natural and helps with acid reflux as well as building her immune system, it is called Optiflora (good bacteria). It comes in a (small) pearl size shape and many moms will put it in the bottle and babys naturally swallow it. There isn't a taste to it.

We did.... I had a medicine 'spoon' that was a pacifier that we would put the meds in with a bit of formula - or just the med after a while. We found that if she could suck it out on her own, she would take it as opposed to us trying to squirt it in.

Hello - my daughter used to take the liquid kind as well and it DOES taste truly awful. The pharmacist told us that they can only use the grape flavoring for some reason (other flavors aren't allowed with this medicine) but the grape did help mask some of the nasty flavor. Check with your pharmacist about flavoring it.
