Yoga - Worland,WY
Hi everyone! Does anyone have a recommendation for a yoga dvd that is good for exercise but also the relaxation/spiritual aspect? I need a way to de-stress and I think yoga would help. Thanks!!!

I agree with a previous commenter on the Gaiam yoga videos. I have 3 of them and they are all excellent. I particularly like the Patricia Walden video. I think it is Yoga For Beginners.

I like Rodney Yee as well. He has a great AM yoga series that puts me in a good place at the start of the day. You can usually get the dvds cheeper through Giam's website than Target.

I love yoga. It is very relaxing and it does so so many other things. It has many wonderful benefits! My favorite tape is Yoga, weight loss work out for dummies. Denise Austin has some yoga tapes out there that are very good also.

Have you tried Qi Gong? It is similar to yoga, but Chinese. It is deep breathing exercises and slow body movements. I like Matthew Cohen's Fire and Water dvd. The Fire workout is for feelings of anger/depression/Pms, and the Water workout is for feelings of anxiety and stress. It is more relaxing and meditative than yoga, in my opinion.

I love, love, love the Namaste Yoga by Kate Potter. The episodes are on Fit TV, so if you get that channel and can record them, it's alot cheaper (that's what I do!). The episodes are about 30 mins with commercials, but you could do more than one if you wanted to go longer. They are very relaxing and flowing, yet still challenging. I know that you can buy the "season" on-line at Amazon if you're not able to record them. Good luck!

I like the Total Yoga series with Ganga White and Tracy Rich. It has smooth series of moves and teaches you to coordinate it with your breath. Good exercise along with relaxation. They are about an hour long, though.

"Outstretched in Worship" is a yoga class done by a Christian instructor who prays at the end of the class.
I like anything by Rodney Yee also. He is excellent and has many different DVD's.
Yoga Journal (see yogajournal.com) has a variety of DVD's also. They have a great magazine too so that you can continue learning.
