My MD recently prescribed Yaz for me because I suffer from Prementsrual Dysphoric Syndrome I have not yet tried it. I was never on birth control before in my life, I had my tubes tied after my daughter and thought this would be good, but than I had all these issues prior to my period. I would like positive feedback only. I appreciate it

In gerneral, taking a sythetic hormone can be hazardous to your health. Blood clots to the lungs is very frightening and life threatening. In addition, you will be a blood thinner for a very long time, which poses additional health problems.

Honestly if you want a great product to clear up your skin OPC-3 skin health is one of the best products I've ever recommended to my patients. It is not a drug, it is a blend of vitamins and minerals that you take orally that has many health benefits. Sorry I have nothing good to say about Yaz although I hope this info. helped for the skin health.

I don't mean to sound offensive, but if you want opinions, you should be wanting all of them. What if 100 people had terrible experiences and only 1 had a good one. Wouldn't you want to know that?!
that said, I know 2 friends who were on it and one saw no difference in her mood issues, and the other had some very serious reactions b/c she has potassium issues anyway (which can become very dangerous if on Yaz). Additionally, my cousin was a Physician's Asst at an OB/GYN and said it was the one pill she would never prescribe for someone unless directly asked for. And even then, she would try to find something else for them. For some people, like the previous poster, it can be a perfectly fine pill. For people who have potassium or liver issues, it can be very bad.

My 18 year old daughter started using Yaz the end of Feb. '09. It is making her regular, her skin has cleared up and hair growth has stopped. She has polycystic ovaries. The only bad thing is that she has gained 17 pounds. I don't know if it is connected to the Yaz or not. She has a tendency to gain if not careful. But it seems very coincidental that she gained so much after using this medication.

Hi D.,
I can't give you any positive feedback, unfortunately. I was on Yaz for about six months and changed to a different type of pill because it just didn't work for me. I hope you find success with it!
Best!

I take the pill each night before bed. Around 10:30 or 11 pm. It has helped with my migraines but I stil suffer with them too. Talk to your doctor about trying to take it with other pills.
Good luck.

I was having really bad periods with a lot of medium sized clots, heavy bleeding, and what I call the woosh. After sitting for a long period of time, I'd stand up and "woosh".
I've been on YAZ, for about 5 months. The periods are lighter and the clots are much smaller.
Many years ago I was taking birth control pills (don't remember the name), but they made me extremely moody. I'm not experiencing that with YAZ.
I did have one side effect, leg cramps/charlie horses. My ob/gyn told me to take magnesium tablets, and that worked.
