Would You Complain?

Hello All,
The hospital has a photographer that comes in and takes newborn photos of your baby and you can buy picture packages if you want. We bought one of their cheaper packages, which was still $60. We got the photos in the mail and the quality of the pictures are horrible!!! She was a little rashy on her face, nothing too bad, but on the pictures you can see every little spot on her face bright red. I picked out a cute little blanket for her to lay on and had an oufit to match. You cannot even tell what color the blanket is and the color of her outfit is completely different. Im so disappointed. I plan to get her photos taken by a photographer that I know, but Im mad that we paid $60 for these really bad ones. I know the picture quality could have been better. Would you call them?

What can I do next?

Thanks Ladies! I did call them, they are going to reprint the pictures and send me more. Im crossing my fingers that they are better this time!

I would and I did. I had my twins pics taken in the hospital and shelled out $180. The pics looked great on-line but when they were printed they werent nearly the quailty I thought they would be, I ended up getting half my money back. Good luck!

Yes, I would. A good photographer will account for lighting and adjust accordingly. It sounds as if they didn't bother to do that. A photographer that spends their time taking photos of newborns in the hospital should be knowledgable enough to adjust for lighting and do their best to get the best photo of the baby possible. This is their job and you paid them to do it and you are unhappy with the results. I would call them.

Babies are SO funny looking when they're first born (mine included, you ladies know all babies look funny when they're days old), so why anyone would want those first pictures professionally taken is beyond me. Yes, *I* took some myself, but for the pros I waited until they lost the cone head, angel kisses, and rashes.

I'd complain, but I still don't understand why people give into the gimick of 'baby's first picture' at the hospital.

Yes, call them. But even better, write a letter to them and then write a letter to the hospital. They need to know you had really bad color issues and that the pictures were poor quality.

As far as your baby's face rash is concerned, you didn't pay for touch-up. Your baby is your baby, and born this way after the difficult trial of birth. So don't be upset about that. That is her badge of honor for being born~

Yes, and i would ask for some if not all of my money back.

YES!! Call them! Tell them the quality was bad, the red/magenta color was too saturated, the crop was too harsh and you want them re-cropped, color balanced and on better quality photo paper or you want your money back.

I would call them for sure. I always hate those newborn photos they take at the hospital, I have never seen one that actually looks good. Both of my girls look dead in their photos, lol!

Yep - send them back and get your money back - no sense wasting your money on something that you are not happy with!!

absolutely! their pricing is RIDICULOUS for the quality of photos they give. our hospital was around $100. so silly. for that price (for 6 photos), it should be really high quality. definitely complain.
