Hello -

I have been a patient of Dr. Ramona Jones for several years! She is great - takes the time to really ask you how you are doing, what has changed since the last time she saw you, etc. I will say that you do need to call in advance as her appointments book quickly.

I would definitely recommend her.

Thanks,
B. Rice

I go to Dr. Winfred Parnell, and he delivered all of my children at Medical City. Medical City has improved tremendously over the last few years. With my first 2 children I didn't care for it that much, but didn't have much choice because that was the only hospital where Dr. P practiced. With my 3rd child, I didn't want to leave because I was so comfortable, lol. It seemed as if they had gotten rid of their previous staff and started fresh with people that actually had the patients in mind. I have also seen Dr. Monica Diaz, Dr. Ramona Jones, and Dr. Joseph Carlos throughout my pregnancies and they are all wonderful. Actually, I know lots of people that go to their practice, and I've always heard extremely positive things about all of the doctors. I don't think I could ever go to another OB/GYN office.

I've been a patient of Dr. Weise for over 15 years and he has delivered all 4 of my babies. I trust his abilities completely. If something comes up that he is not an expert on, then he gets you to someone who is. He is very thourough and so caring. It all depends on what type of personality and experience you're looking for. He is quiet and not gushy. His office is small...it's only him, a receptionist and two nurses. After having been with big practices in Dallas while going through infertility treatment, I've been at places that felt just like a cattle call, where I saw someone different each time and I was just a number. Dr. Weise's office is just the opposite. They all know me, my husband and children personally and it is so comfortable. I know he practices mainly @ Presby Allen, not sure about Med City. Good luck!

I delivered at Medical City in November 07. My OBGYN is not on your list, but I had a fansastic experience at Medical City. This was the first delivery for me and my husband. I was induced, and the process went very smooth. My L abd D nurse was young, but VERY good and aware of what I needed, and how to make me comfortable. The anesthigiolist was also fantastic. I was in labor for abour 6 hours and my baby turned sometime during that process. I had to have an emergency C section. I was VERY upset and scared as was my husband. Thee ENTIRE staff was so supportive and caring. They acted very fast. They were very medicaly responsiable, but also took the time to be sure I was ok and support me. The C-Section went perfect and fast. I was never in any pain, or discomfort. Me and my baby girl were healty and happy throughout the whole process.

My stay was 3 nights and I was also very happy with my care during this time. Ava ( my daughter) was also taken very good care of. I felt very comfortable with the nurses that were taking care of her as well.

I really dont have one negative thing to say about my experience there. I plan to get pregnant again in the next few months and Im looking forward to my delivery and care being at Medical City Hospital.

I delivered at Medical City March 2008 with Dr. Sigman (not on your list). My only recommendation is if you are thinking about getting a suite make sure it is the one on the postpartum floor. When I delivered the suite that is on the postpartum floor (I think it is the 8th floor) was occupied so I had to opt for the suite on the 9th floor which was a women's recovery floor, but I was the only one postpartum. Due to the fact I was the only one on that floor postpartum, it would take forever to see my daughter. I was always either the first one to be visited or the last (usually the last). My husband and I have already decided if the suite is not available when we have our next one on the postpartum floor, we will take a regular room on the postpartum floor. Most nurses were excellent at Medical City; we only had an issue with one of them that talked down to us like we were teenagers that just had a baby vs. thirty year olds. My husband spoke with the head nurse and she was replaced by a much better nurse. The lactation consultants are wonderful and supportive. Overall we enjoyed our time at Medical City. Good luck!

I do not know the Drs on your list but I have given birth twice in the last 2 yrs at Presbyterian Plano and had a great exp both times. The delivery staff, nursery nurses, and post partum nurses were all really great. Both times were very different but equally good. Wishing you luck!

I had my son at Medical City and thought it was a great hospital. The rooms were very nice...they had us in a labor/delivery room initially and then moved us to a private room after the birth. I was a first time mom and I found the staff to be very attentive and helpful. The food was actually quite good as well! :) We also took several of the birthing/safety/child care classes at Medical City and thought they were very well done.

Well, I cannot say enough about the Carlos/Parnell practice. Drs Jones and Diaz came later..and believe me, they do not bring just anyone into their practice. I have been a Carlos patient for many years but would not have an issue going to any of the other Doctors. I really think it is a matter of preference when talking to my other friends that are faithful to that practice but they are Parnell, Jones or Diaz patients. I have known Dr Carlos for years. He is really a sweetie and has an awesome bedside manner..kind of a father figure. Parnell is more serious but very sweet. I do not know the women as well although my friends that see Dr Jones absolutely love her. I think if you are favoring a female Dr., you cannot go wrong with Dr. Jones. In fact one of my friends decided to switch from Carlos/Parnell to Dr. Jones. Dr Diaz is the new kid on the block so I do not know much about her. All I can say they were looking for a 4th doctor to add to the practice and it took them probably 2 yrs to invite Dr. Diaz to the practice and I know Drs that interviewed with them and were not invited to join the practice. I love the staff at the office. Alway VERY friendly and professional. Minimal wait times and they do a great job handling the ups and downs associated with childbirth or childloss.

As far as Medical City, it is a great place to deliver. I have a friend that recently completed her Nursing degree and chose to work at Medical City because she loved her birthing experiences at that hospital. Did I tell you she lives in Southlake!!! Therefore, she passes many hospitals just to get to work and you know nurses are in high demand even in this economy. I experienced a childloss and I have to say, I was in great hands at Medical City. They were very sensitive and loving. I even had visits from the Carlos/Parnell staff while in the hospital.

Needless to say, you cannot go wrong with Medical City or any of the doctors associated with the Carlos/Parnell/Jones/Diaz practice. They do their best and would require the staff they work with to do the same..that is why they are affiliated with Medical City.

Blessings to you and your family and hopefully you will join the Carlos/Parnell/Jones/Diaz practice.

Dr. Ezell Autrey at Medical City has been at the hospital for over 25 years. He is a solo doctor which means you will have one on one care and not see multiple doctors. His staff is sooooo nice and willing to help you. The staff in the hospital are wonderful and funny. They make your stay feel like you are a person and not a number. Give him a call. ###-###-#### C-512. Good luck on your pregnancy.

I had a great experience delivering at Medical City Dallas. The rooms were nice. The nurses were helpful. The food is pretty good for hospital food. They are very helpful getting you started breastfeeding. I had an emergency C-section and everything went smoothly - they saved me. I have only had one child, but I couldn't imagine a better place to have a baby. They had really good child preperation classes too.

I've used Dr. Ralph Joseph for about 8 years & he delivered all 3 of my kids. Like his staff MUCH better now than the first couple of years - I think his "new" wife cleaned up the place wonderfully :-). It's now decorated nicely & the staff are very pleasant. He's calm, not overly gushy bedside manner (which I much prefer), very practical & polite. And I delivered at what was Presbyterian of Allen (not sure what they call it now). Liked that it was smaller in scale - had private rooms for labor/delivery & after. I'd highly recommend him as long as you don't need someone who is really effusive/gushy in their manner.

No experience with any of these doctors, but I had my cancer treatment at Medical City. I felt the care was adequate, but it is such a big place. Good for you to ask advice about specific doctors.

Delivery - as far as Dallas Presby is concerned, I won't have my kids anywhere else. That's saying a lot, since I live right next to Plano Presby, quite a drive to there! Dallas Presby may not be the prettiest place to look at but the staff is considered what they call a 'magnet' status. They have the highest satisfaction rating among nurses and doctors that work there. My mom, who is an RN in Oklahoma was so impressed with the level of care they provided me with my son's delivery that she actually considered asking my dad to relocate to the Dallas branch of his business so she could work there!!

Probably not the answer you are looking for, but it is only 3 miles from Medical City. My ob/gyn is awesome, too, Dr. Joseph Behan. Won't prescribe birth control, though, which is part of why I like him!

blessings,
L.

I can't say enough about Dr(s) Carlos and Parnell. Dr Carlos has been my physician for years. An extremely knowledgeable, caring physician. I've had the opportunity to see Dr Parnell as well. There are no naive, silly questions with these doctors. Dr Carlos is patient, kind and thorough. You don't feel rushed when you see them. Dr Parnell delivered our first daughter (she came quickly and Dr Parnell was on call) and Dr. Carlos delivered our second daughter. I had complicated pregnancies (hypertension, fibroids, etc) and these docs were superb! I can't imagine ob/gyn care with anyone else. Delivery at Medical City was a wonderful experience.

She was my ob/gyn and I was very high risk. She gave me my hysterectomy as well. I LOVE her. I can't say enough about her. I love Medical City Dallas. It is a Great hospital. I was in and out of the hospital due to complications with my pregnancy and everything was great.

Hope this helps.

My previous OB was in the same office as Dr. Diaz and I saw her once and really liked her. My only issue with her is that I don't like some of the other doctors in the office, especially Dr. Umholtz. With having that said you take the risk of having to deal with one of the other doc's if you go into labor or if you have any complications and the thought of being in Dr. Umholtz care scared me. My other complaint is the office...it's all women dr.'s and staff (which is fine) but their office staff was very gossipy and they didn't seem to care if a patient over heard them or not. Just came across unprofessional.

I'm currently pregnant with my third as well and I'm using Dr. Oliveira at Medical city. She is awesome...I absolutely love her. I never feel rushed, she takes her time with you while she's in the room with you. She's very smart and very thorough. I'm a high risk patient and she doesn't over look a thing! I like her so much my mom is using her now as her gyno. If you choose Dr. Oliveira I would highly recommend making morning appt's if at all possible. In the afternoons you tend to wait longer.

Good luck.

Dr. J. Carlos has been my doctor for over 10 years. I recently saw Dr. M. Diaz for my yearly exam as she was great. The Carlos, Parnell, Jones and Diaz practice is a wonderful group of doctors. I had my last daughter and had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Jones and Parnell during my monthly visits while I was pregnanat. Dr. Carlos is absolute wonderful doctor. He takes time before the exam to sit with you in his office to go over concerns you may have and actually gets to know you on a personal note, about your family and their interests. I had my last daughter at Medical City and had a great experience, nothing to complain about. Hope this helps.

I don't know any of these unfortunately, but Vernon & Waldrep at Medical City Dallas was really great! My hubby and I used another OB/GYN at Presby Dallas for our first son and then switched to Medical City and this practice for our second. WAY better all the way around. Vernon and Waldrep were in the D Mag top docs list. The physician we used was Dr. Sohn, there are three in the practice. Dr. Sohn was wonderful and engaging and really cared about us and never rushed us out. Always able to get appointments squeezed in if I needed to, really great. Just as an FYI... good luck!!
