Workout Dvds

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has workout DVD recommendations. I have been doing the Jillian Michaels DVDs (30 day shred, No more trouble zones, Last Chance Workout) for a while now. While I love those, I am looking for something around those lines - same level of intensity. Any suggestions. I also run - but am looking to add some new DVDs for my home workout for the days that I can't make it out for a run and also to keep it new and interesting.

Just as a side note- for those looking to get into Jillian Michaels DVD workouts - start with the Beginner Frontside and Beginner Backside DVDs- great starting point and you can be move on from them in a few weeks to 30 day shred.

Thanks,
Aarti.

I also did the 30 day shred, then moved on to P90X - I did the classic version of P90X, then did another 90 days in the lean version. AWESOME!! Now just for something different I'm doing Slim in 6 (another beachbody workout like p90x). If I were you I'd go to beachbody.com and look through their workouts to see which one might be best for you. They work!!! I like their vitamins too.

I did the shred too for 2 months. Then i bought everything else she makes. I like her teaching style and the variety in which she works me out. To optimize calorie loss. Other than what you mentioned I have her dvds 'yoga meltdown"(its like the shred, two levels, 2 degrees of intensity), "Burn fat and boost metabolism"(40 minutes, involves kickboxing and shred-like variety) "Shred it with weights"(involves kettle balls this is my favorite)"6 week 6 pack"(like the shred, 2 levels with two degrees of intensity, involves barbell weights)

other than Jillians stuff i have "10 minute solutions pilates" "gaim pilates" and "ab burn with jeannette jenkins"(involves a stability ball)

I just started "Gaim stability ball workout" it came with ball i ordered. it has an elastic band that comes with that. i really like it. its low impact, not intense and is great for the days that i need to take it easy. I work out every day so on the days i need a little rest i do pilates and stability ball workouts.

Im looking for good videos for dance workouts, medicine ball work outs, and kickboxing. I ordered some on netflix to try out.

My husband and i are going to try the p90x at summers end, im also going to sign up for hot yoga classes.

I have Bob Harper's Inside Out cardio and super strength - both are good 60 minute workouts . PX90 is a good system, too. Just make sure you look to buy it on ebay or craigslist for much cheaper.

Check into some jump rope DVDs. My library has a couple videos on rope sport, one is beginning, to easy, the other one is pretty good. A Kathy Smith Fat Burning video has one segment where it's a kick box/jump rope. It's 17 minutes of intense workout. I do it without the rope (basement ceiling is too low).

I have a Kathy Smith: Time Saving Lose Weight with Weights that I like. It has 2 20 minute segments, 1 for upper body and 1 for lower body. There is a 7 minute ab section at the end. I change the intensity by increasing the weights.

Just found an Amy Dixon DVD at the library. Give me 10. The first workout is cardio and I liked it, something different.

If you have room for a step, that could be a good intense workout. Amy Dixon has a DVD that uses step that I haven't tried (again - low ceilings in the basement).

Bob Harper dvd's are fantastic. He is really inspirational and has the different levels like Jillian. Target and Walmart usually have them for around 10 bucks.
