Hello ladies, so I've been working out (a little lazy at times), but I can't get rid of my muffin; that little budge at the bottom of the abdomen, it just sits there...laughing at me. Everybody says "you look great" "you're so paranoid" "it's fine"...but it's not flat. Before my son, boy, them abs were washboard flat, lol, and I miss it. I do the cardio part from the p90x videos, that really works (whole series does actually). A friend told me about pilates and I tried a little bit of it and it was so much fun. Does anyone know of any good pilates videos or whatever? Will it shed the muffin? Im tired of looking at it, lol!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies for your input, I will try the things that were suggested. And for the criticism, thank you too, though please know, I LOVE every stretch mark, the juicy thighs and curves child birth gave me, I just miss my flat tummy, so...deal.

Mine didn't go away until I started running and doing some serious ab workouts. Upping my cardio to running 4 miles 3-4 times a week and adding weights to my regular sit up routine helped it get flatter. Now its just lots of extra skin, but not so much a muffin top anymore!

Marine crunches and reverse crunches. It will totally tighten up the bottom stomach flab. I get lazy and stop, but doing it for a few days will start to tighten you up a bit.

if i have said it once, i will say it again , a post baby tummy is something to be proud of, not something that you should be ashamed of, my post baby tummy reminds me that i gave birth in a bathroom, with no drugs, no pain killers and no latte, the only person who was there to help me was the same one who got me in maternity clothes to begin with.every time i see some young thing walking around thinking shes cute with her flat tummy, i think, yeah, you think you are just the cutest thing going, but, you have never given birth in a bathroom, and then gotten up and walked through the apartment to the waiting ambulance, i have, deal.

Hard work and commitment will go a long way! While I don't do pilates I got rid of my muffin top and rediscovered my abs after two kids by following Jillian Michaels' book "Making the Cut." It's a 30-day meal and fitness plan. There is no cheating (sweets, alcohol) but it's only 30 days and will help you drop the last 10 pounds and tone your entire body! She gives you the recipes and the workouts (really need a gym, though). Diet is rather low-carb, low-sodium, but many of the meals are good. A lot of the lunches I still eat. Jillian also has a "30 Day Shred" workout video that I also recommend. Good luck!

Lol, I know what you mean.
I think is a great idea try something different, you may have hit plateau and unless you change your routine you will not see changes or they will be very slow. Also remember that the last 10 pounds are the most difficult to lose, so don't give up.
I don't have any advice for Pilates, but I you have cable check if you get Fitness TV, is a channel all about Exercise and nutrition and things like that (I guess the Title say it all, lol).
Also I am a BIG fan of Oxygen Magazine, you may want to check that too.
There is this cover girl of the magazine, her name is Francisca Dennis and she had 6 kids and her abs are amazing!
Good luck and don't give up!

First off, I'll be flat honest... after kids the only way to get washboard flat is surgury.

But adding some pilates, yoga, etc (anything that works muscles, especially the core) will help tighten things up. And when you build muscle it bumps up your metabolism, so you burn more calories through the day (even resting). So even if you don't get your pre-baby body back exactly you can look and feel great.

When you look at that little bulge laughing at you, just tell yourself "this body carried my sweet little guy, and it's perfect." It helps when I start comparing myself to skinny girls at the gym - they have flat abs but I grew three beautiful babies so they have nothing on me.

Swimming. 30 min 3 times a week.
Oh and you have to eat a low carb diet, too.

Not sure when you had your baby, or if this is an issue, but I found that my body would NOT give up that lower body fat until AFTER I stopped nursing. Must have been some estrogen thing. I kept getting skinnier and skinnier in my face and collarbone area, so much so that the baby would hurt herself when she bumped her little head on my shoulder, poor thing! Sounds like you're doing what you need to do, just be patient with yourself and keep up the workouts. : )
