Working Mom Seeks "Mommy" Friends

I'm 26 years old and a proud mother of a 4 month old boy. I currently work full-time and take care of my son at night while my bf is at work. While my bf is such a great help, I still find that I'm extremely exhausted. I was hoping I could meet some young moms in my area that are going through some of the same things I am: sleepness nights, fussiness, diaper rashes, breast feeding, no-time or energy to cook, etc.

Some of my interests include: stroller walks, crafts/painting, baby photography, party planning, listening to music, dancing, clipping coupons, movies, and cooking. I work alot, but I'm usually available on the weekends and can chat via phone or email.

If you're interested or know of any local groups in Sherman Oaks, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi:
If you can take your baby to a class on the weekends you will meet lots of working moms. Gymboree in Sherman Oaks, My Gym (my kids loved this class) in Encino. You can also call Jackie Rosenberg, Babies First Class, in Sherman Oaks. I think you have to start her class when your baby is 18 months old, but she can give you the names of other classes to take. I met a great group of moms in her class. Joining a volunteer organization like the Junior League is also a great way to meet some moms. And don't worry, once your baby starts pre-school or does a mommy & me class you will meet tons of working moms.
Good Luck. T.

I met some lovely people at "A Mother's Haven" in Encino - we took the Kindermusik classes and the Mommy & Me yoga classes. I no longer go to the classes now because my child is older, but when she was a toddler, it was great! They also had great child-friendly support group meetings there. If you work, they have weekend classes. Call them!

I M.,

When i first moved to simi valley (not too far from you) I looked into a "moms club" I was native from the beach and that just wasn't cool to do, but i needed to meet other moms because all my beach friends were living the single life. I met so many moms to hang around with there. I think every city has a chapter of their own. It would be called moms club of Sherman oaks. They have one, i think, for working moms too. Our kids are too far apart in age to hang out, but look them up.

I will be happy to send you a free sample for your little one. It's an all natural product, not tested on animals, no dyes, fillers or fragrances added.

Works on excema too.

I know it's out of the area, but The Pump Station in Hollywood is a wonderful place to receive support & meet other new moms. They have a breastfeeding support group for working moms on the weekends, I believe. ###-###-####. I can't say enough good things about The Pump Station! There's also a location in Santa Monica.
