Wow I feel so sorry for you. Well I see you have three kids already why not just get a hysterectomy. That way you won't have a period anymore. I think that would be the best thing for you.

you are right to get that iud removed! Go see a gynecologist you can trust today because if the pain is related to the iud/iud removal you might have an advanced infection in your uterus! Are you having fever at all? It is not normal that you can hardly walk. Is the pain associated with your iud or your menstrual periods? If it is associated with menstruation, try 600mg of calcium and cut down on the caffeine. there is the possibility that you could have endometriosis. Go see a good gynecologist!

Why are you on so many birth control methods?

Change doctors and do it very soon! There's no reason you should be on multiple birth control methods and you're at greater risk for blot clots, high blood pressure, etc. You need to find a doctor that will look at your overall health and not just the 'female' part of you.

As far as your cramps and pain, I undertstand where you're coming from. First, go to any local market or health store and get Folic Acid supplements. They are VITAL to womens health. Getting your body healthy will be the best way to get rid of your pain, so talk to your (new) doctor about blood work and see where you are so you can get back on track.

Good Luck!

Hi, I'm Johnnie Sue, I started having tremendous pain when I walk after my first pregnancy. The only thing that has helped is vitamins, I went on a diet using Relacore, and found that my cycle was regular and pain free. I passed the news to my sister who also suffered very bad pains, and it workd for her. I'm not saying to go on Relacore full time I only use it when I feel pms coming on. One dose a day and that works for me.I also found that Slow FE Iron @ Wal Mart helped. It doesn't hurt to try, Relacore also helped my attitude during pms, and believe me I had one hell of an attitude.

I am sorry you are having such problems. Does your doctor know you are on all those birth controls? Maybe you should consider getting a second opinion. That sounds dangerous. Hope you get better soon.

I think you've got too many hormones running through your body too! Has your doctor mentioned Ablation? They go in and remove tissue from your uterus. Some women don't have a period for a very long time afterward. I would look into that. Also, maybe look for a new doctor if your's isn't willing to look into options other than hormones. I personally don't like the thought of a foreign body in my uterus for more than a quick procedure. So I wouldn't want the IUD. Hope you figure out what's going on soon and get some relief!

What doctor are yu seeing that told you it was okay to be on that many birth control devices!!!! They all contain hormones of some kind, that will have some kind on negative affect on your body! I too, had the depo shot several years ago after my first child and it hadd the opposite effect on me. They told me to give it some time every 3 months I went in to get another and I ended up phaving a period for a solid year with NO break! It SUCKED!!! I recommend getting off the shot, taking out the IUD and just sticking with the pill!!!!!!!!!!

Hi K.,
I would highly recommend you get off of Depo. It has some nasty side effects that doctors don't tell you about. It made me aggressive, constantly dizzy and have 0 libido. It is awful stuff and i recommend you read up on it. it is nasty stuff and i would urge any woman to not be on it. Could you give your body a break from birth control and use condoms?

I haven't heard anything good about the IUD. I know someone that had it and got pregnant anyway. She ended up having a miscarriage and was in great pain. There should be no reason that you must have three different types of birth control!!! You should do some research on the types of birth control you are on. Here's just a bit of information I found about side effects of the IUD:

IUD Complications
The IUD has been associated with a number of health risks that, although rare, can occur. IUD problems include:

* Uterine puncture: Occurs in one to three out of every 1,000 insertions. Usually realized right away. If not, the IUD may migrate to other parts of the body necessitating a surgical removal of the IUD.
* Expulsion: As much as 7% of all IUDs will be expelled by a woman’s body within the first year, mainly within the first few months. Women who fail to realize that their IUD has been expelled are likely to become pregnant. An expelled IUD accounts for 1/3 of all pregnancies that occur to women using an IUD.
* Tubal infection: Not common, but the process of inserting an IUD may cause naturally occurring vaginal bacteria or an STD to be pushed up into the uterus leading to infection. Mild cases can be cleared up with antibiotics. In some, more serious cases, the IUD may need to be removed. In very rare, but serious instances, the infection may require surgery and possibly leave a woman sterile. Infections that are left untreated may be fatal.
* Pregnancy: If you think you are pregnant, you should have your IUD removed. A pregnancy that results while a woman is wearing an IUD increases her risk of en ectopic pregnancy, serious pelvic infection, preterm labor and miscarriage. During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, a woman who has an IUD in place has a 15 to 50% chance of miscarrying. After this time, the risk goes up to 50%.

To me, this thing just doesn't sound safe. If you get pregnant that easily, I suggest condoms as well as ONE type of birth control. I hope everything goes well for you.

Goddess Bless,
K. L

Yikes!! First of all- do not take motrin and naprosyn together- they are both NSAID's and should not be taken at the same time. Second, no wonder you are having problems- you ONLY need one form of birth control, not three!!! Does your doctor know about this??? Your hormones are probably CRAZY with all of that in your system. The IUD can be removed, the pills can be stopped, but the depo is there until the end of the three month period it is good for. Please talk to ONE doctor and get this straightened out!

BTW, I have an Anabell also! She just turned 4. Wow, your girls are very close in age- I can see why you would be tempted by three forms of birth control!!!

The iud should be enough birth control. I used the copper iud. I only had some off-period bleeding and mild cramps the first few months until my body adjusted. They weren't that bad, though. Are you using the Mirena? Try just the pill or just the depo. I had some bleeding the whole 3 months I had it, but my sister never had a period and she used it for about 3 years. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor. I hope this helped...even just a litle.

i don't know much about the IUD except that you aren't supposed to feel it at all, so i would make sure they check when they take it out and see if you tore while they were inserting it. also, you shouldn't take 2 forms of hormones unless your dr. recommends it. i'm surprised they would prescribe you both at the same time! maybe you could request to see a different dr. you mentioned you are a military wife, so i'm assuming you go to WBAMC? if so, maybe you could ask for a midwife at ob/gyn. i like them much better than the old male drs. up there. if you go to the TMC to get your birth control, ask for an appt. with dr. molina. she's really nice and very thorough and listens to you really well

Girl, you are loaded! Is the depo a treatment for endo or cysts or something. I'd had problems since 16 with endo and cycts and was put on alot of hormones - until hysterectomy 5 years ago. So if there is a medical reason you are on depo, drop the pills. If not, then get rid of the depo if you can. As to the other, ask your MD for some Ultram (tramadol) for the pain.

Good luck!

Hi K.,
My name is C. Cox, a local women's health physical therapist. I work with a lot of women with internal pelvic pain postpartum through menopause for various reasons. You could have multiple things going on in your pelvic region, especially since your youngest is 2 months old. Were any of your children delivered C-section? Or did you have any episiotomies? You could have scar tissue build up and/or internal adhesions causing you pain, inability to walk, etc....I work with numerous OB/GYNs and their patients that have these problems. The IUD could be exacerbating the situation. So ask your OB for a referral to me (a women's health PT) at Northeast Baptist Outpatient. Phone ###-###-#### and fax ###-###-####. My cell is ###-###-####. I can get you back on track and help meet your goals. If your MD is military he/she should know that there are no women's health PT's on base...I have been through this with other patients. So have the MD send the Rx straight to my office at NE Baptist outpatient. The diagnosis will be pelvic pain or pelvic floor tension myalgia.
I also teach the Fit Mamas Prenatal Exercise listed on this site but see women's patients in the clinic one-on-one.

Good luck with this!

C. Cox, PT

Yeah, you are on too much birth controll. Any one of those meathods are fine on their own, but combining them(unless you have some health problem and your Dr says to) could be whats causeing you so much pain. You probably know this already, but birth controll is artifical hormones. So by taking so much you are taking A LOT of hormones. I bet you have been really moody lately. I would talk to your Dr about which meathod will work best for you and stop the others. and if you are combining because you really don't want to get pregnant and you want the extra precautions, you can always use condoms too. Good luck.

You are on way to much stuff. You are only suppose to take one form of birth control at a time. I would switch drs. Anyone that has you taking all that has no idea what they are doing. IUDs are not good for your body.....They cause a lot of problems down the road for women espically if you want more children in the future.

Hope you feel better soon!

Does your doctor know you are on 3 different birth control methods? This seems bizzare. Pick one, and if the IUD is causing you problems, then don't get that again. I really think you need to talk this through with your doctor.

Hi K.. It seems you need a good GYN. I am not sure who you are seeing now but you may consider changing Doctors. I recommend seeing Dr. Phyllis Yohe. She is very good and very smart she has been practicing for a long time. She is in Round Rock on Chisholm Trail. You can look her up under Women's Health Associates.

I am a single mom with 4 children and use to work for Dr. Yohe for 4 Years. She is also my GYN.

I'm not understanding why you're on the shot and the pill - one is typically sufficient.

Have you considered a tubal ligation?

You are 26 and already have 3 children. If you and your husband are not planning on more kids, he could easily get a vasectomy. My husband did this after we were done having kids and it has made our lives so much easier. Neither he nor you will be able to tell he had it done.

Hello K.,
I was reading through your comments and noticed you are on the depo shot. Is your doctor okay with you taking two birth control avenues? Well, when I had my son I used the depo as birth control and I DO NOT reccommend this type of birth control for anyone. I had my periods for long periods of time sometimes 3 weeks then did not have another period for months. My periods were very painful and difficult. I raad the book of side effects of the depo and noticed my body was effected by the drug and I was feeling most of the side effects listed. Once I stopped taking the birth control, it took a long time for my body to adjust (try asking your doctor for prenatal vitamins during the time of your period to help you with energy, this helped me a LOT).
Ever since I got off the depo I told myself I would NEVER get on another birth control again. I spoke to my husband and told him how much my body was effected and how bad it was for my body and health. We discussed this and came to an aggreement I would not put my body through another birth control crisis anymore. We now use condoms.
Hope this helps you.
