Try taking an Antihistimine for the itching. Bynadryl oral will work, but a lot of people can't take it do to the drowseyness. Try Allegra, Zyrtec or Claritin. It should help.

I don't have any advice for the bugs. When we lived in Kentucky we rented a house and my son kept getting bit by something and I was sooo pissed bc I couldn't find what was biting him and even worse our landlord wouldnt do anything about it. I hope you find what is getting ya'll bit. We tried to lay tape down on the floor and around bed posts but never caught anything.
As for the bites, theres some stuff to use for head itch called scalpicin. I have used it on bug bites on myself and it stings for less then 1 second, but then it cools and doesnt itch anymore. It almost drys it up some too and is better in a day or 2. Hope this helps!

We went through this. I used calamine lotion and hydrocortisone cream. I would recomend having ABC pest and lawn out for a free acessment of what your bug problem could be. I could find no trace of the bed bug until they came out to our house. Yes we had bed bugs and we are clean people who must have caught them from traveling. You don't have to pay for their service unless you think you need to. We washed everything in hot water and bought Precor 2000 from a local pesticide company to spray (we did it our selves)in the house once a month for 3 months. The ABC lawn guy told us that depending on the problems they use different chemicals. So if a buy guy sprays for fleas and it is bed bugs, then it won't work and vice versa. We only had the bugs in one room which is very unusual. If it had spread to other rooms I would have hired ABC to do the whole house but we were lucky and got rid of it with 3 treatments to the one room. Good Luck... I would definatly call a pro at least for a free acessement so you can come up with a resolution.

I have had eczema my whole life and have tried every anti-itch cream out there. If you go to Walgreens/walmart/Target theres an aisle with all little different anit-itch creams. I usually used hydrocortizone or caladryl..They come in small tubes so you can try them and if they dont work, try another. In the Army, they mostly prescribed hydrocortizone for bug bites. They come in creams or ointments, I would recommend creams...If shes really miserable, you can try those Aveeno oatmeal bath packets. At least just go look at the aisle they keep all that stuff in. Hope it all works out!

I had this problem with my whole family just recently. Look in all the rooms in your house and look up in between where the ceilings and the walls meet. If you see little black spiders they are your problem. If not I'd still get the house sprayed for spiders n insects. Good luck!

"I have fleas in my house!" These words mortified me! But it happened. A nearby cow pasture seemed to be the cause and the little critters quickly spread. We trekked them into our home and they multiplied. While we sprayed the house ourselves, it only slowed them down. Finally a professional came in and quickly took care of the problem, but be wary, as they lay eggs in the carpeting and furnishings. Once the eggs mature, you're back to being bit. So the professional, if he knows his stuff, should tell you that a second round of treatment is necessary. If he doesn't mention it, insist on it yourself. Hang in there..if properly treated, it will all be a memory soon. Benadryl gel does great on the itching, by the way.

could it be chiggers? We've had them before. You can't see them at all but the bites itch like fire and are primarily around the ankles. A friend of our's who is a boy scout leader suggested putting nail polish on the bites which suffocates the chiggers. (can you imagine a boy scout troup with nail polish on their legs--lol) This was a hard sell with my husband, but we used clear nail polish and it worked great, although it did sting when first put on the bites.

I picked up two stray dogs years ago and come to find out they had fleas (no good deed goes unpunished). I tried everything to get rid of them, including fogging and nothing worked but getting it professionally sprayed. It got rid of them almost immediately. Hope you and your little one get better.

I had this happen to me. The bites itch like crazy. I figured it was fleas. My dog comes in at night and she sleeps in my bedroom. I treated her, washed bedding, cleaned under furniture, and vacuum/mopped my floors. I still had a few new bites. I fogged and have not had another bite. I have also treated/bathed my dog weekly. You are on the right track.

Where are your bites? Are they in areas such as around the waist, where your leg meets your abdomen, in your arm pits, behind your knees, around the tops of your socks (if you wear socks), etc.? If so, then there is a high probability that you have chigger bites. Chigger bites look like flea bites but for me, they itch a lot worse than flea bites.

Do you or your daughter play out in the yard during the day?

Unfortunately, chiggers cannot be seen and THEIR BITES WILL SHOW UP OVERNIGHT. I found this out the hard way back in 1998. When I woke up one morning, I could "connect the dots" on my body from all the chigger bites. They weren't there when I went to bed...

The best remedy to help avoid their bites is to spray your shoes, socks, legs, etc. with Off (or some other insect repellent) or dust your shoes and socks with sulfur powder before you go out in the yard. If you don't do this, you can also spray your legs with rubbing alcohol after you are out in the yard to "suffocate" any chiggers that may have gotten on your legs. However, you have to act fast since chiggers will crawl up your legs to get to the areas where they like to bite (any place where there is an elastic band or other tight area). Always remember to shower off after spending time outside if your area has chiggers.

I do not know where you live but I live in the Hill Country, just west of Austin, TX, and my yard has chiggers (ugh!). We dust sulfur powder around the yard where we walk and play to suffocate any chiggers that may be there.

As for helping the itching, Benedryl works wonders. You can take it orally or apply the cream on the skin. If you take it orally, be careful since it can make you drowsy. The topical cream works wonders. I keep plenty of cream on hand during the year.

Holler if you have any questions...I did a lot of chigger research after my first episode in 1998.

Hope this helps!

Walmart sales an oderless insect spray that you can do the whole room it works. I do that in my daughters room because we have lots of little spiders. It works up to 3 months then I spray again in your case u may have to spray more often. Spray in the morning and not at night to be safer. Take care and good luck. There is also a medicine for the staff when you see that it might become that. Put a medicine called Boil buy it at cvs or walgreens and bandage it all day and clean it do it again for another day. It will prevent it from become infected and larger. When the boil becomes a head remove the infection by squeezing. You will see the medicine will not allow it to become worse. Good luck it sounds like you are dealing with so much. For infection of mesquito bites as soon as you see the redness, bite, hard spot, put antiich medicine you can buy it at Walmart called after bite, or another one that is gell but in a clear bottle. That works as soon as you put it on.

Hi S.
I am not sure that fogging will solve your issue. It sounds like you may have gotten invested with bed bugs- and this is easy to do- if you or hubby have stayed over nite at a motel or away from home you could have come in contact with bed bugs and brought them home .......this is easy to do and happens frequently I am told.
From what I know about bed bugs is that you cannot see them- they are imbedded deeply into your mattress- and no matter how sterile you make your bed linens they still come out at nite- I am told the only way to get rid of them is to get rid of your mattress- drastic and expensive I know- but when I was growing up- and bed bugs appeardd- we had to burn our bed springs and mattresses-
If you have recently purchased new mattresses- sometimes they can be there as well- hopefully not-
Benedryl is the best for the itching- you can talk it orally or use the cream--- check with your dr. about giving your daughter the benedryl orally- and, you can also use the oatmeal bath for bathing her- and yourself-
If you do have fleas- then the fogging might give you some temporary relief- but I would suggest an exterminator.......
you also did not mention- are you living in a new place.. flees can hide everyplace and if it is flees you should be able to see one occassionally jumping around during the day........I rather doubt it is flees-
A professional exterminator could possibly give you a solution if it is really bed bugs.
so sorry you are having to deal with this-..
good luck and blessings
