Any of you have a wipes warmer that you recommend? I have always used cloth wipes, but the water in my upstairs bathroom takes ages to warm up, so I''ve got to do something different!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, it sounds like if I do get a wipes warmer, the Prince Lionheart is the way to go. One of you suggested the pump-top thermos with warm water, which is what I did with my third baby. I have been doing this, and think I could just make myself fill it up! It's amazing that sometimes the simplest things require the most effort! Thanks for all your advice. I may end up doing both, one in one, and one in another changing station.

I agree with the other mamma STAY away from them. They are a dark cool place when they are not being used which breeds bacteria, and also going from warm to cold many times causes it to create extra bacteria. I personally have found that they can dry out the wipes as well. I never really warmed the wipes after that for fear of bacteria. But my friend says she sets one or to in the microwave for about 3 seconds....I would think that would dry them out too. I just hold them in my hand for a minute or two until they aren't so cold....and the kids seem to do fine with that. Good luck.

Be careful of those wipe warmers...I've heard of one product causing fires.

The Prince Lionheart warmer is awesome. If you put it together right and re-wet the pad inside every two weeks, nothing turns brown and the wipes don't dry out. You also throw away the pad entirely after 3 mos. I think the pad has some microbial (anti-bacteria) deal on it too. I've been using it for 3 mos. and haven't had any problems at all.

The wipes warmer that was catching fire was not the Prince Lionheart one that you plug into your wall. I researched all this before I bought mine. I think the one that was a really bad fire hazard was the travel wipes warmer. Check out the Consumer Reports baby products book and the Baby Bargains book for info on which ones were fire hazards.

I use Prince Lionheart as well. We had a Munchkin wipe warmer, and it died after three months!

you should know the a wipes warmer will dry out your wipes. I tried it and ended up buying more and more wipes or running them under tbe faucet again. Good Luck!

I use cloth wipes too. I got one of those pump top thermoses and put it next to my changing table with a plastic bowl underneath. When I need to wipe, just pump a little water into the bowl and dip the cloth into it. Voila! Just switch out the water each day and it will always be warm. After my son got a little older we stopped bothering to switch out the water - he doesn' tmind the cooler water now.

Cloth wipe user here too . . .

The wipes warmers on the market now breed bacteria. I'd stay as far away from those as possible!
