Winnie the Pooh Party

Does anyone have any ideas for party favors for adults for my sons 1st birthday party. The theme will be Winnie the Pooh. I have received responses asking why adults are receiving party favors. Since the first birthday party is usually for the adults to celebrate I thought it would be nice to give them a little something. I did not do this for any of my oldest sons birthday but wanted to try it this time.

What can I do next?

Lol, I thought only the kids got the party favors?
For adults I would try something like nice jars of real honey (you can do so much to decorate the jars) and maybe some tea in nice little baskets or bags. The candle idea was very nice as well. And I think that an copy of one of the original Winnie the Pooh books is appropriate for all ages as it bring back memories for us all and is something the adults can enjoy with their children. Also have you got games lined up because my friend had a Pooh themed party for her daughter and her father made a simple bean bag toss game that was amazing! He made it look like a giant honey comb (just a board painted to look like a honey comb with some large hole) and the bean bags were little bee beanie babies, it was so cute! Anyway, have fun!!!!!!

A few years ago I went to a baby shower that was a Winnie the Pooh theme but I just loved the party favors. They were clear glass votive candle holders which she sparcely decorated with very small clear themed stickers such as minature honey combs, flowers and lady bugs then she wrapped them in white mesh and a small yellow ribbon. She also put a pale yellow votive candle inside. They were so cute and I still have mine. Its in my baby's room and goes great with her Winnie the Pooh theme. And my friend for my baby shower had large white chocolate suckers made with a colored imprint of Winnie the Pooh and on it which also said the date of my shower. I know these are shower ideas but I think they would work for any occasion. Good luck!!

Hi,

All the other ideas sound great! Here is another one! At the stationary store they have cards that you can put a picture in plain that you can decorate with Winnie the Pooh stickers or some might even have Winnie the Pooh theme. If you have a digital camera and a printer take a picture of each guest with your 1 year old, print them out real quick, place in the stationary and pass out as a keepsake while guest are leaving. Either that or use it as thank you cards.

My daughter's 1st birthday is in a couple of weeks. I'm giving out Golden Spoon Yogurt gift certificates. They sell them in $2 increments. I'm giving one per family. I hate the knick-knacky stuff my 3yo son comes home with. Most of it ends up in the trash pretty quick anyway.

It's not necessary for the adults to have a party favor, and it won't be expected of you. If you still want to do "something" and you have a lot of adults, maybe you can buy some lottery tickets and give out scratchers. Another cute idea (since it's a Winny the Pooh party,) is to give out bottles of honey. Age 1 is the mark where kids can have it and not have to worry about botulism and it goes along with your theme.

I agree with the others that the favors are not for the adults. But if that is something that you really want to do then run with it. The other ideas given are terrific and simple. If money is an issue then you should go with the candle idea. Check out Target's wedding aisle or Michaels. Target has a great selection of stickers along with most grocery stores. The honey is also a great idea but a bit pricier. I recommend going to a farmers market or a health food store for something a bit different. If you can find a winnie the pooh ribbon, I think that tying a piece around the top of the honey jar would bring it all together. (try Michael's, Joanne's, Joanne.com or try Googling it.)

When I had my son's Sponge Bob (5th) birthday party I got some great ideas by Googling "Sponge Bob birthday party ideas". Check it out and you might find some new ideas.

I just realized that I have a container of Winnie the Pooh stickers if you have any trouble finding any. They were my daughter's and she just started college so they are no use to me. I don't know where you live but if you are in the Ventura area before your son's party let me know and they are yours.

Have fun with it,

Evelyn

Why do adults need party favors at a kids birthday party? For my daughters birthday party only kids 10 and younger got favors. The food and drinks should be enough for the adults.

Hello S.-
I think u should just give the grown-ups a grab bag and call it a day, because if u really think about it who eats the grab bag? Us:-) !!!!!!
