Wild Yam to Help Fertility??

Hey wonderful moms!!!!
I was told to use wild yam to regulate my cycle but I am wondering will it act as birth control and make it so I don't get pregnant?
I want my cycle to be regulated to conceive another baby. I don't want to do anything to stop that. I also know that with my cycle not really on schedule it has been very hard to get pregnant. Please help! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would recommend that you research natural bioidentical progesterone cream. It is a safe natural alternative and has more documented benefits than wild yam cream. I personally used bioidentical progesterone cream and no, it did not keep me from getting pregnant while I was using it:) Here is a website that you might find helpful:

From my reading, it is all about the dosage. Too much can act as a contraceptive (though not incredibly reliable). The problem, of course is finding the right dosage. You should take it from the first day of your period for 10-14 days (until ovulation).

If you are using the services of an experienced midwife or herbalist, I am sure they can help you find an effective dosage.

I was also told if you eat yams it can trigger your body to ovulate more then once so your more prone to have twins. My doctors told me to stay away from them for that fact lol. Good luck.

There are other environmental factors associated with fertility...one lesser recognized is light. Sleeping in darkness with exposure to only moonlight might be of help. (also using a simiulated twighlight/dusk...with amber lights or blue blocking glasses) You might check out on the web what oddball things have helped women get regular!

Wild yam is a phyto-estrogen type supplement that can help with your balance if you have an imbalance of estrogen/estrodial levels.
