Wii Games - Anaheim,CA

Hi Moms,

My kids are so excited we finally caught up with the video game age and have purchased the wii!!! Up until this point, they have each only had a DS so we are completley ignorant of the large video game systems. We have the Resort Sports and regular Sports games that came with it, and we purchased carnival games.

What are some fun games for an eight year old girl and twelve year old boy? I think the games are pricy so I can't buy a ton. I'd like to know some of the good ones for Christmas.

Thanks.

C.

What can I do next?

My family got Just Dance. It is so fun and really gets you moving.

In total honesty, the ones that gets the most use at our house are MarioKart (our 12 yr old son) and WiiFitPlus (me and our 9 yr old daughter, plus visiting grandparents).

The Wii Fit Plus requires the use of the balance board. Do you have one? When we bought our balance board, the game came as part of the bundle inside the balance board box. It is very cool. My daughter likes to do the yoga workouts, and we all enjoy the snowball fights, kung fu, obstacle course, etc. My daughter LOVES the hula hoop, too.

There is a big variety of things to do on the one game with the Fit Plus and I highly recommend it.

Oh... I forgot, both the kids really like the Indiana Jones Lego one.
Congrats !! You're gonna love it.

My son has Mario Kart and Mario Super Sluggers which he loves. He also really likes Super Mario Brothers.

You could try Super Mario Bros or Mario Galaxy. They are pretty fun!

Rockband, Lego Star Wars. Also, find out what they liked on the DS, most of those games are available for the Wii :)

Personally I love all the Lego games (Batman lego, Starwars Lego, and Indianan Jones lego) Also the Toy Story 3 game is fun. Little Big Planet and the Mario Bros games are also fun.Alot of the older games get marked down (I just bought my daughter a Disney Princess one for $15 at Costco). It really just depends on what they are into. I would suggest looking into something likek Game Fly, its Netflix for games. Then you can play and see if you would really want to purchase. Some games you think would be fun but get boring pretty fast, and having kids that age, their preferences change so why not just rent and then if you all really like you can go buy. Hope this helps, have fun gaming :)

Go to Game Stop they have used games for almost 1/2 price & guarantee that they will work. You can also buy game cube games to play on your Wii. We enjoy: Mario Galaxy, Super Mario borthers Wii, any Sonic the hedghog games (game cube) Mario kart Wii, Transformers, happy feet, CARS Spyro, Sim City Creator, Sponge bob (game cube), Toy Story 3, the incredibles, Teen Titans (game cube), ben 10, Luigi's manssion (game cube), Moster Jam (monster trucks), guitar hero (yes it is a teen game, but our youngest boy has been playing it since he was 3 & our oldest has been playing it since he was 5) &how to train your dragon. You can also go to hastings & rent games before you buy them & our public library also has Wii games to check out. We have Wii fit & the balance board. It is a lot of fun. If you have internet you can buy older games on the Wii (original Mario Bros. & more). If you have Netflix you can get a free CD for the Wii & watch movies from the Wii! We got our Wii about 3 years ago & have really enjoyed it. I hope your family gets as much use out of yours as we do out of ours!

God bless!
