Wide-width Shoes in Ocean County?

I'm looking for a place in the Ocean County area that sells wide-width shoes, other than Stride Rite. My 5 year old son takes a size 11 Extra-Wide and it is really hard to find shoes for him. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

What can I do next?

Believe it or not my son has wide feet also and i find that the smart fits at payless or walmart usually fit.

good luck

Hi.. I live in Toms River and I am pretty sure that there is a store on RT.37 all the way down by the Walmart somewhere, I am not sure of the name of it or exactly where it is, I do believe that it is on 37 East... Sorry, I know that doesn't tell you to much but maybe if you are in the area you can take a ride??? Also i think Payless has Extra wide???

My 1 year old is also an extra wide...we go to stride rite(LOL I know you said no stride rite), but I was also told that Marshall's has a great child shoe section. There is a Marshall's in Toms River across from the OC mall. They even carry stride rite(LOL). I don't know if you have ever been in that one, but the shoe section was redone and it is HUGE! Good Luck!

Sears in the mall. Cheaper than Stride Rite. My daughter has wide feet too!

I know there was a wide shoe store on RT 37 East but I think they specialize in adults. You may want to look in the phone book for others I believe there were some specialty shoe shops in Lakewood. Stride Rite seems to be the benchmark in children's shoes I am sure that Payless carries extra wide but I could never reccomend those shoes for everday wear. Check out the roster of Freehold Raceway Mall I know it is Monmouth County but they have a huge selection of stores. My daughter has small/narrow feet the exact opposite of your problem. We have had great success shopping from zappos.com they usually have free shipping both ways and their selection is out of this world.
