Why do I think women are bad drivers? Because they are! Not all women but usually when I get ticked at another driver it's a female who is not paying attention, tailgating, eating or texting.

Personally, I've never been pulled over, or caused any accidents although I was once hit by a young teenage female driver. So no, I do not think I am a bad driver.

I have 3 female siblings who've all been the cause of an accident and also my mother (who drives for a living) has been in several accidents (both on and off the job.)

In general I think women allow themselves to be overly distracted by children, and other normal distractions and are also the more aggressive drivers of the two sexes causing a bad combination.

Nope. Haven't had a ticket in 7 years. No accidents in 20+...oh yeah - i need to add - I have over 31 years driving experience...

It doesn't matter what gender someone is...it all depends on whether or not they were paying attention when driving. If they don't have the experience to drive in tough situations (ice, snow, fog, rain) they should NOT be driving.

I do think women are often incredibly distracted drivers...which makes for a dangerous driver. I hate to further the stereotype, but I've never really been in the passenger seat, with a GOOD female driver. It's interesting, because I have experienced men are more middle of the road drivers. (Not to say men can't be aggressive or passive drivers, of course they can and are.) With women, it seems like they were either very passive or very aggressive. No in between, just in my experience. Both extremes are dangerous.

I do think I am a good driver. I was taught by my dad how to drive. I have never had a ticket, or been in an accident that was my fault. I have been in two accidents where the other driver was 100% at fault. I was obeying the law completely. In fact, the parties responsible were women driving stupidly.

I hate to say it, but yeah...I tend to think women are bad drivers. I see WAY more women driving badly on a daily basis.

I somewhat joke that women are bad drivers because it really seems to me that many of them just get in the car and press GO. When I hear one say that she hasn't been in any accidents, I imagine that they all happen in her rear view mirror, if she'd bother to look in it for more than touch-ups. I will admit that I stereotype the female driver. I generally think that they do not pay attention to more than what is happening right in and directly around their cars, not noticing the subleties in traffic up ahead or behind enough to know to drive strategically. When I see a car not parked correctly between the lines, I always suspect a woman at the wheel.

Of course, I'm different. I pay attention to everything all around me, and I am an excellent parker. I consider everything, and I'm not timid or aggressive on the road, but just the right amount of assertive.

I think I am a good driver and I am. Tonight though a fender bender doing less than 10 mpg. Bumper to bumper traffic cars slowly love. One car slams on brakes. Need I say more. Only bumper damage but very unnerving. Spend all this money on a good car, to find out the bumper is crappy plastic. Not even heavy heavy duty!!!!!! However, all is well. Home and had a big glass of wine. Last time anything happened, was 27 years ago, going down a hill on a slight curve. I was practically at at stop, when the town drunk comes flying up on my side of the road and bam hits me head on!!!!! She bent the frame of my new car. Even a fender bender is very scary.

Bad drivers are bad drivers regardless of the sex. Overall, I think women make better drivers because most of us women are so use to multitasking and being more cautious compared to men.

For the most part, I would say that I am a better driver than my husband. He gets distracted way more easily than I do:)

I think a lot of women in large SUV's are unsafe drivers because they either do not know how to drive a large vehicle or they think that because they are larger you should yield to them.
I also think that women are more distracted while driving, whether it be by multitasking or kids.
I've heard that women are involved in more accidents, but men have more serious accidents.

when my 16 year old son stole (no drivers license) and totaled my car, almost every woman i told (friends, coworkers, other parents) gasped at the tale and almost every man i told said "i remember when i did that to my moms car" so there you go. hahahaha

I've never heard this from a man, unless they are sexist pigs. Statistically, men are worse drivers, especially young men. Car insurance costs more for young men under 25 because statistically they get in more accidents. It's a provable fact. It's not even worth wasting the energy to think about, actually.

If I'm not mistaken, women tend to have lower car insurance premiums, so the stereotype is false.

I am a MUCH better driver than my husband is, and I'm not just basing that on my own opinion. When my in-laws drive with us they always ask me to drive so they don't have to white-knuckle it.

I am not a bad driver. I have had one fender bender that was my fault and that is it. I have however been hit in a head-on and a rear-end collision by two males. Does that make all males bad drivers? No, it makes individual people bad drivers for one reason or another. Women are not bad drivers. People regardless of gender can be bad drivers.

You know what makes bad drivers? Distractions, alcohol, lack of common sense, entitlement, and a sense of invincibility.

My husband thinks women are worse drivers than men, but he doesn't have a drivers license! Ha! However, he agrees with Canuck, women are more cautious. I do notice women are more hesitant on average, myself. Also, I have trouble sometimes estimating space when backing out or parallel parking, and I have read that women do have, on average, more weakness in the area of spatial reasoning. We are also ahead in many areas, it goes without saying! And also, every time, and there are too many tines to count, I have seen an idiot swerving through lanes and risking everyone's life, it has been a man.

Because they are sexist, and this is a way to express that, that won't get them in too much trouble.

I'm not a bad driver, neither is my husband, we don't have any accidents or tickets. However, I noticed you are in AZ. AZ is notorious for daily accidents and #1 in red light fatalities. So my opinion is EVERYONE in AZ is a bad driver.

I also question the same statement that is often made about Asian drivers
