Who Turned up the Volume????

Our little one, (first and only 10 month old boy), had largely been a quiet kid. A few bables, and gurgles. He made noise at first, then it largely went back burner as he got more and more active. This weekend though, after a playdate with a very talkative 10 month old, our son has been a near constant stream of babble commentary. Plus he's introduced squealing to the mix. Squealing when happy, and when cross. Its cute, but very very noisy.

Who turned up the volume?
Any recomendations on what to do?

Live with it. As they get older they project better. Eventually they learn what an indoor voice is.

This is a great phase... you never know when that scream is going to come out! What to do? Laugh about it b/c it will fade away very soon, just like so many other things he does right now.

This is the precursor to language, so please don't stifle it! He's learning how to control his voice and the sounds that he makes, so let him go.

My husband used to look at our son and say "Nice dinner scream buddy" as he belted it out at the table. Now, we look at our big boy sitting in a chair, eating steak and talking to us... missing the dinner scream.

This has become my favorite part! My 15-month old is squealing even more, using her 'words' and just making me laugh. My favorite is her use of the word "No" I ask if she wants her water and she says no as she is grabbing it from me! I love it.

Just enjoy this time and chalk it up to learning. :o)

Awww, I've got three teenagers, so, yeah, your kid's kind of noise sounds way better to me than my kid's.

Wanna trade?!!

Enjoy him!

:)
