Who Has Tried Spinning?

i just signed up and began taking a spinning class. i was wondering if any of you have also tried it and what your results were? like, how much weight did you lose in what amount of time, etc...
im positive it works because i absolutley feel run over by a truck at the end of the class. and through the next day. and i cant even think straight for several minutes afterwards. but im also not in the best of shape. i just want to know from others who have done this what your experience has been.

What can I do next?

I LOVE spinning. I started doing it after my son was born 5 years ago and I have continued to do it after my other two children were born in the last 4 years. It will make you want to die at first, but stick with it! I threw up the first time I took a class, no kidding!! But I made myself keep going. It seemed like a month went by and I didnt notice anything happen to my body, but all the sudden after that pounds starting melting off! I went from 150 pounds to 121 in 4 months! I added 30 minutes of weight training twice a week and a 4 mile jog twice a week. But I didnt add that until later, after I really got in shape. I will give you some advise that really helped me... i invested in a good pair of spinning shoes. YOu can get them at bicycle or sports shops. They really helped me become more efficient when I spun, plus it didnt make my feet hurt as much like they did using the tennis shoes.
I stay stick with it! I have a friend that even continued spinning up until her ninth month of pregnancy. She was in such great shape!! Good luck!

S.,

Well, I was with you until you asked about losing weight. I have done spinning, but I never lost weight. (My spinning was spinning yarn on a drop spindle! HA HA)

I have no idea what spinning even is =|

I took a spinning clas a few years ago and LOVED it! At the time I wasn't eating healthy so I didn't see any weight loss results (plus I didn't take the class long enough, maybe just 2 sessions) but did start to tone up. My girlfriend tho, who stuck with it lost 100 pounds doing that along w/weight watchers. Gee, I should resign up cause that's what I'm doing now! LOL! Anyhow, she still takes the class and is keeping the weight off. It was REALLY hard at first but stick w/it and you'll get use to it. I bought a special pad for the seat to make it more comfy on the butt! lol! You can buy them at Walmart or Target in the kids bike section. I found that helped with the sorness on the backside. My instructor recommended it. She did also recommend the shoes too but I never did go buy them because I didn't stick w/it long enough.
