I was wondering if there was such a thing as a "white noise" Cd?
I have a cd player already and didn't want to buy a white noise machine also. My son
is a really light sleeper so I thought it might help.

What can I do next?

YES! YES! YES! there is a white noise CD. WE got it for my daughter when our electric bill got to 300 in a month due to me continually having the vacumm running ( only thing that would get her and keep her sleeping). The CD is called " for crying out loud" IT has the following sounds on it; mothers heartbeat, car, wiper & rain,, blowdryer, vacuum cleaner, resturant ambiance, washing machine, rain on roof, and waves on beach. This CD is not sold in stores but you can order it online. Good luck and hope it helps. I think it was like 15 dollars when we bought it. The website to buy it is www.stopcryingnow.com

I had bought white noise hairdryer noise CD when I got tired of using real hair dryer to help my little guy sleep (how long can you hold it and blow air?? LOL) I played CD with repeat function on the player and it really helped us to have longer naps and night time sleeping as well.

I found a white noise CD at Babys R Us.

A friend of mine takes her daughter to a sleep specialist and according to him, white noise irritates children and it's better to play a relaxing song over and over again instead.

The white noise is starting to irritate my son, but he is slightly autistic so he has issues anyway.

Just like another poster said about being a light sleeper and the noise stopping... it used to wake my daughter up! I got lucky and found one at a garage sale and it was the best thing I have ever bought! It has a continous setting and she sleeps 12 hours a night with it. I do turn it down though after she has fallen asleep since it comes over the monitor and irritates me while I try to watch TV (my white noise)to fall asleep.

Another nice thing was having several different noises to choose from on the machine. My daughter actually cried with 2 of the noises and absolutely LOVES one of them and the others she can take or leave! This is where I am more for purchasing the machine since you can always return it if it does not work out where a CD you can not.

Good luck finding something that works for you all so you can get some great sleep!
Blessings!

There are all types of CD's. Google White Noise CD and there are a few to choose from. Be aware though that you may need to keep the CD going all night. I am an exceptionally light sleeper and when I tried to use a noise machine it did work but when it went off I woke up.
