White Counters and Sink, Bathtub

My kitchen counters are all white and so is the sink. Need suggestions to keep it really clean. I use clorox wipes regularly. I somehow have these food stains since last week which are not going away. The sink looks brownish as well. I am looking for something with less/no chemicals and easy to use.
Ditto with the bathtub - white and getting stained. I have a 15 month old son, so want to avoid harsh chemical based cleaners if possible.

What can I do next?

Simple green does wonders! I have light counters too. I just spray a the counters down wait 3 to 5 minutes and then wipe em' down with warm water and a wash rag

My first choice cleaner is Clorox. Kills germs and works like a charm.

I have a white sink and I run some water in it and let it sit with Clorox a few minutes. Same with the tubs.

You can also use vinegar and baking soda.

I use BioKleen all purpose cleaner or Charlie's Soap all purpose cleaner. They both work wonders!

I have a white folding table with a very porous surface. I was so sad that it was getting so stained! I was washing it this weekend after using it as a buffet table for my son's birthday party and had sprayed it with the BioKleen spray and then realized that ALL of the stains that had been there for years had DISAPPEARED (shouting for joy, haha!!!).
There are no harsh chemicals in the things I listed. You can buy them at amazon.com or other online retailers or check their websites to see if you can buy them locally. Charlie's soap and BioKleen also have great laundry soaps and BioKleen's bac-out bathroom cleaner is amazing!
Happy cleaning!

I understand you wanting to stay away from harsh chemicals, but for sinks and showers, you really need something with some (gentle) abrasion. Vinegar and baking soda is a great start - if you want something a little stronger, go to Whole Foods or Mississippi Market and look in their cleaning aisles for bathroom cleaners that contain some scouring agent. (Honestly, I gave up, and went back to Soft Scrub. All the other cleaners I use are bleach and phosphate free, biodegradable, etc, but I decided I could stand the bleach if that's what it took to get a non-disgusting tub.)

Vinegar and baking soda are GREAT cleaning agents to use...actually got that tip on here when I asked about cleaning my shower awhile back. Also agree that Magic Erasers are good too! I used the Magic Eraser to scrub the soap scum out of my bathtub and I use the baking soda and vinegar to help get the "icky" out my tile. :) WORK great!

I use Comet. However, I do not know of anything without some sort of
chemical that will help.

Try the least toxic method first.
Such as: Sprinkle just baking soda on it. Scrub it off with a wet rag.

For tougher stains, try using as a rag those plastic webbing bags that onions come in. They don't scratch surfaces and they're free (I save them all the time and find millions of uses for them.)

For daily use and to prevent staining in the future, keep a spray bottle with this home-made "bio-kleen" solution in it:
Dissolve 2 tsp borax in 32 oz. hot water
Then add 1/4 cup white vinegar and
1/4 cup liquid dish soap
Shake.

You can use this on just about anything, using old rags. I use this solution to wash off surfaces in the kitchen, bath, floors, etc. (I got this "recipe" from the Minn. Pollution Control Agency. It's their non-toxic cleaning solution.)

I love these cleaning formulas because I can teach my six-year-old to clean up after himself and never have to worry about exposing him to harsh chemicals! (He loves squirting the bottle.)

I feel your pain! I have a slippery white kitchen floor and the only thing that takes out scuff marks is a comet or Bon Ami. I forgot about magic eraser--those work great, too! Bon Ami is probably less chemical than comet--I say that only because the natural food stores carry it. Good luck!

When my white kitchen sink gets dingy from coffee, tea, etc. I use spray on a cleaner with bleach but in theory could just use straight bleach. Just spray it on and rinse within a few minutes. It works wonders.
