Which "Travel System" to Purchase for My Newborn?

I did go to Babies R Us and try out the Eddie Bauer Travel System-Preston. I wanted to find out which brand you would recommend. I want something that is EASY to put into the car as well as good to start off with a newborn. I have read reviews on both Babies R Us and Target for travel systems. Now I am confused.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you ladies for all your advice. I went to Target and got the Graco-Amelia travel system. It is pink and brown and goes with my daughter decor for her room. It was more reasonable in price than Babies R US. Thanks again.

I would suggest making a trip into Lone Star Baby (on Preston probably a half mile north of 121). They have a wide range of travel systems on the floor that you can push around and the sales staff is very knowledgeable. Every time I go in there they are very nice and give me good pros and cons on whatever product I am looking at.

Good Luck.

The Graco Metrolite is the lightest stroller out there, and now with an 8 month old who weighs 20lbs, I wish I had taken my friend's advice and gotten that one. I have the Graco Quattro Tour Quattro Tour, and it is really smooth and was great for my newborn, but the stroller is heavy.

I have the Peg. Pliko P3 stroller with the infant carrier and love it. It is so easy to get in and out of the car and is very light weight.

My sister-in-law bought the Chicco Key travel system and I bought the Peg-Perego Pliko P3 Stroller and matching carseat/carrier. I am still using mine and have loved it. You could probably still find the 2007 models on sale too. Good luck.

I am a first time Mom and could not decide on a travel system either. I was worried they would be so big and bulky and heavy that I wouldn't like them. I ended up buying a Graco car seat so I bought the Graco Snap and Go stroller frame. It is just a frame that the car seat snaps into. It has a basket underneath and cupholder on the handle etc. Check out the reviews on Babies r Us. The pro is that is is lightweight, compact and easy to use and you can just put the car seat right into it. The con is that once they are out of the car seat it is no longer usable. There is also a model (not sure of the manufacturer) that can use any brand of car seat. The Graco one works only with Graco car seats I think. My thought was this would get me by initially until I figured out life w/baby and what type of stroller I would really use (i.e. umbrella stroller, jogging stroller etc.) So far so good.

I used the Eddie Bauer one and I LOVED it. I don't know which model you are looking at but the one I had also vibrated so it would help keep my daughter asleep and it didn't even really show the wear and tear of use.

I'm using a Baby Trend Travel system and I love it. It was within price range at Babies R Us. It was easy to put together and I use it all the time.

Hi A.,

My husband and I got the Chicco Brand travel system. We just bought a new car seat since my daughter has finally out grown the carrier and she just turned one. The Chicco brand is the best car seat system ever. The base is so easy to install and then it's only one click in and one click out to remove the carrier. The whole system is very light. We had a sales guy at Babies r us recommend this to us and it has been great. Try out a few in the store and compare. You'll see the difference. Hope this helps.
