Which Is Better Wii or Xbox 360? - Brandon,FL
We currently have an old Xbox system. Our son uses it most of the time to play kids games especially the Star Wars Legos (his favorites). Since we have an old system, we are limited to older games, whatever we can find secondhand that is age appropriate. However there are alot of new games out there (Lego Indiana Jones is his top pick) that we would like to try but can't since it is not compatible. He has been asking for a new system for Christmas and we are considering getting either the Wii or Xbox 360 as a treat for the whole family courtesy of Mr. S. Any advice?

The Wii is definitely better for younger children and for family use. As for the xbox 360 if you already have an xbox you should be able to use those games on Xbox 360. Or you could sell all of that and have more money for wii games. My niece is 4 and can play the wii with ease.

We just got the Wii for our twins' 7th bday & it is incredible. There is a huge variety of games (all the same stuff as Xbox, I think), but the Wii remote is capable of so much more, and up to 4 family members can play at once. It is expensive & no discounts or sales apply to it (even if you apply for the T'RUs credit card & get 10% "everything" for the day, it does not apply to game consoles, nor do any coupons, but you CAN use gift cards towards it). It seems to be the same price across the board - I don't think even Wmart, for example, is allowed to discount it. I have no experience with the Xbox.

It really depends on what kind of games the family likes playing. Wii has more cartoon like games and some educational games, where as Xbox 360 has more action, first person shooter games and games like that. Of corse they both have rockband and games like that. We have the Wii and I like it because it causes you to interact with the game more than just pressing buttons. Wii seems to be coming out with more and more games to expand its interest. Good luck they are both fun systems.

We have them both. I am going to have to agree with everyone that said go with the Wii. Although my girls play Rockband on 360, my husband plays Halo and that is really why we have the 360. My girls play Wii and so do there friends. Guitar Hero World Tour has all the same benfits as Rock Band, and that is available for the Wii. I think that is what Mr. S is bringing to our house. There are a lot more age appropriate games avaiable for Wii. We play Wii sports and Wii fit as a family, bowling and boxing and tennis. They have a fishing game that my husband loves to play with our girls. The Wii really is a great thing.

The Wii is awesome. My parents bought one for my little brother (age 16), and the whole family uses it. From my 2 year old daughter all the way up to my grandparents in their seventies.

I highly recomend the WII. Not only is it geat for all ages, but the games get you off the couch. We have had one since it first came out and got the Wii fit and Outdoor Challenge to go with it. My whole family enjoys it. I have a 2 and 6 year old and the 2 year old loves to pretend she is playing, while the 6 year old likes to beat the pants off of everyone else. The games are alot more family friendly I think.

I would sugest the wii. We have both systems, and the wii is more kid friendly. My 2 year old can play it and the best part is that it gets them off the couch. Also the wii has more kid approprate games and there not as expensive, and you can also use game cube games which are even cheaper for that system. If your thinking about buying one before chirstmas, call around because they are hard to find.
