Which Fruit Contains Zinc?
Hi, I am looking for a fruit or sweet vegetable that contains zink to add into a juice for my 1 year old. Do you know which fruit or vegetable contains zinc? Zinc and Vitamin C are good for the immune system and I am trying to keep my little one from catching my cold. Thanks for your time!

There is a table pretty far down on the page that has food sources of zinc. There aren't any fruits or veggies on the list. Maybe make a smoothie with yogurt to get the zinc?
I saw somewhere else that pumpkin seeds are the most non-meat/dairy zinc-rich source.
Is this for your baby?

I don't think that fruits (or many veggies for that matter) contain a lot of zinc but you can try Realage.com . They have a place to select vitamins or minerals and then tell you what foods are high in them.

I don't know about Zinc but I heard that sweet potatoes are good for the immune system.

I have a plastic covered chart that I bought at Powell's books, listing all the vits, minerals and how they help the body.
Zinc is in cooked oysters, beef, lamb, eggs, whole grains, nuts, yogurt, fish, legumes, lima beans, mushrooms, pecans, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, sardines, soybeans, and poultry.
You could also add a zinc supplement to his/her juice.
Some surprising foods have Vit C. Broccoli, cantaloupe, kiwi fruit, pineapple, peppers, strawberries, asparagus, avocados, collards, dandelion greens (young ones are delicious)kale, mangos, onions radishes, watercress and of course the citrus fruits.
My daughter's sister also uses herbs to keep her kids immune system healthy. I have a chart entitled Herbal Therapy made by the same company that made the one on vits and mins.
Echinacea, golden seal, and garlic are good to prevent and also to treat colds. She also uses bilberry syrup tho it's no listed on this chart.

Yep, I agree with all the above comments...there are really no fruits or sweet veggie sources of zinc. However, if you want to build the immune system of your little one, you can do that easily with a good infant/toddler supplement. I recommend Shaklee's supplement which they are updating with a special formulation to provide the higher levels of vitamin D and also to provide all the immune system benefits of a pre-biotic, which is the body's natural way of building the immune system. They also have a little pro-biotic "pearl" filled with all the good stuff that yogurt contains that many moms are using to get the good "flora" into their baby's intestines.
