Okay, I'm 30 weeks pregnant and I'm basically at the 99.8% breaking point with my current doctor and her office and seriously thinking about "jumping ship" and finding another Dr - which if I'm going to do, I've got to do NOW.

I'm going to be nice and not name names, but my initial issueS GREATLY stem from her VERY incompetent office staff, which I know isn't a direct reflection of her or her nurses abilities, but now that's been a day and half & 2 messages left on her & her nurses v/m trying to find out the results of my 1 hr. gestational diabetes test, which was done 1/3 and not had a call returned... I'm really starting to get PO'd. I understand things happen, but when I add up this laundry list of issues I've had, I think I've been patient enough.

Who do/did you ladies see and recommend (or, heck, don't recommend)? Also, I live in the Short Pump area, so I really need to stay on this end of town (especially since work has me in Charlottesville a lot).

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

J.

Hi J.,

Both Dr. Davis and Dausch are great doctors at West End. I was a patient there of Dr. Isaacs's before she switched to MCV. I did have gripes now and then with West End being overbooked, long waits, and incompetent front-end staff. I ended up staying with Dr. Isaacs (in my opinion, the best OB in metro Richmond), and delivering at MCV (an excellent place to give birth, as far as medical care is concerned). MCV has a great group of doctors and midwives, and their offices are located in Stony Point, not too far down Parham over the river. I highly recommend the whole group.

And as for a very convenient pediatrician in your area, Partners in Pediatrics is excellent (corner of Ridgefield Pkway and Pump). Drs. Davis and Isaacs both take their children there, as did my doula. (A sign of a great practice.)

Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK! Pleeease switch doctors... your medical care is #1 priority! :)

I use West-End OB- I am only 12 weeks pregnant, but every time I have been there, I havent had any issues, and usually dont wait a long amount of time for my appointment.

West End OBGYN...they're in Henrico Dr.s Hospital...the one on forest, not the scary Parham Rd. one. I have Dr. Davis and she's awesome, or you can see Dr. Dausch, she's great too, they have a new one, she's nice, but stick with Davis or Dausch...hope this helps, congrats and good luck!!
