Which Cell Phone Service Has the Best Coverage?

My husband and I will be switching our cell phone provider this month and I would like to know your experiences with different providers and their coverage, especially if you or your husband travel a lot. My husband travels all over the US. We currently have Sprint and have had nothing but problems over the last year.... dropped calls constantly. I don't care which provider we go with, I just want the one with the best coverage.

What can I do next?

Verizon.

My husband travels 80% of the time all over the US and we both love Verizon. Tried ATT/Cingulair and it sucked.

My husband and I have had t-mobile for several years and I absolutely love it! We did research on prices and coverage and t-mobile was the best we found. Everyone that I have talked to has said the same. I would highly recommend them!

ATT Cingular provides the best coverage in the US if from a traveling perspective. They have the most cell towers and the only places that we have had major issues is in the mountains and when my husband was in Alaska last year, he some issues (I think it was another mountain issue, but it was kind of sporadic.) By far though, we have had a much better experience since we have been with them. My husband travels Monday through Friday almost every week and he is ALL over the country. My sister likewise has a husband who travels all over the world (he is a pilot) and they also use ATT Cingular. I cannot say that I think that the prices are necessarily the MOST competitive out there, but I also think you get what you pay for. I was a Sprint customer YEARS ago and I hated it. My calls would drop ALL THE TIME! I would be in town locally and my calls would drop needlessly and in the stupidest areas. You will love the coverage from ATT!

We have used ATT Cingular for years. My husband is in sales and travels a LOT, as in 2-4 nights a week all over the US.

Now, sonce he got his Samsung phone, he has not been as happy because he has more dropped calls. Daughter and I have the Iphone and we have never had a dropped call. Before we got the IPhones, we each had a different model of motorola razor and had very few issues with them.

We have daughter on my plan and my hubby's plan is set up seperately because of business. We intend to stay with Cingular/ATT

My hubby has tons of minutes that he is on the phone and he texts us a lot. His plan is around $130 a month. My plan is higher because we have the data plan ($20 each), unlimited text ($30) and then then cell plans. My bill is around $200 a month. The IPhone increases your bill by $20-$25 due to data.

Good luck

I have had T-Mobile for many years and wouldn't think of switching. I've been able to get coverage in remote areas while traveling so that my husband would have to use my phone to take business phone calls because his work Nextel wasn't receiving a signal. The best plan they have is called "My Favs". You can pick a certain amount of minutes a month that you think you need but your five favorite numbers are unlimited 24/7. If you have more than one phone line (i.e. a family plan), then you can have 10 different favorite numbers. I have 700 minutes a month but don't come anywhere near using them because most of my minutes are spent on the five favorites. And that includes using it exclusively as my personal "home" phone since I let my land line go a year ago.

I would highly recommend Cingular/AT&T. We have been with them for 6 yrs and wouldn't dream of switching. We have never had a problem with getting a signal. I will tell you though that my husband had to use Verizon as a company phone once with a job that required him to travel A LOT and it got to the point that he had to convince the company to let him use his personal phone and be reinbursed for buisness use because of the lack of signal with Verizon in so many places he had to travel to.

I would highly reccommend T-Mobile. My daughter just drove from here to Savannah Ga. and had no trouble at all. They have many plans to choose from and are GREAT if you need to switch plans mid-month if your current plan isn't meeting your needs. I have 4 phones and all with T-mobile and unless someone gets a wall paper or ring tone my bill is the same every month. They offer reginal plans as well as nation wide, unlimited texting and pictures for 14.99 a month (which with one teen and one 22 yr.old this is important! lol... We haven't had a "landline" for 4 years and haven't missed it one bit. The cats just couldn't get the hang of taking messages..... haha!
But seriously I would get coverage maps of all the majors and compare I bet in most major metro areas they are all pretty even, if your travel takes you away from there I would be you will fing good and bad with all.
Good Luck!

We used to have Sprint back when we lived in the country. As you can imagine living deep in the country surrounded by many trees, you need very good reception. No matter where we where we never had reception problems with Sprint. If it wasn't for their high prices we would have stayed with them. But now that we live in the city and we really don't use our cell phones that much we have switched to T-mobile prepaids. Here in the city we haven't had any problems with T-mobile. I have friends in the country that do have their complaints with it.

I've been with Cingular/At&T forever and love it. Even when I'm at the deer lease, out in the middle of nowhere, I have service. My entire family is on it...mom, dad, sister, grandparents, husband, son, etc. so all our calls don't count against our minutes. You can't go wrong with them!

I have Verizon and ATT. (Long story). I'm from Wichita Falls and up here, as long as I'm within 20 miles of the city boundaries they're both good. By Henrietta, Verizon is better. On the way to Vernon, ATT is better. In the Wichita mountain area (in Oklahoma), Verizon is better - in fact, on a field trip with various providers, my verizon (chocolate) phone was the only one that had service. I hate the Chocolate. I'm leaving Verizon - but ultimately, I think they have better coverage.

In Southeast Louisiana/Mississippi, where I also spend a lot of time, Verizon is better hands down.

Def Verizon. More Coverage, less dropped calls. They also have been around the longest. They were airtouch before if I remember correctly.

We had Verizon for 10 years and they are great. We just had a few problems with coverage on my husbands leases. They are pretty remote parts so we expected that, but AT&T now that they have bought out Cingular has the best overall coverage. We did a lot of research before switching. I loved Verizon they have great customer service with AT&T we have had a few problems. They sent us the wrong phones, couldn't import our old numbers into our new phones, and I always get a difference answer when I call. I think it is just a hassel when you switch providers, but now everything is great. Also if you have AT&T home phone you get a wireless discount.

I have had cingular/AT&T forever. The coverage is great. We went camping recently, and we had service even when some of the park rangers who had sprint did not. My hubby has Nextell through his job so he doesn't get a choice but we both hate it. I constantly get "please hold while the Nextell subcriber you are contacting is located." Then I get his voicemail, but it is not until hours later that he even knows he has missed a call!
