Where to Go for Date Night Tonight?

It's a beautiful day here!! And it is date night! Where should we go for dinner? Option one is a restaurant/bar at a marina close by my work. Pros: It's by the water, it's on the second floor so the views are nice, I would get more time with my husband than if I drove home first and we went out from there. Cons: I don't know if their food or service is any good.
Option two is a restaurant about a half hour away from home. Pros: Good people watching, good food, good service. Cons: traffic might be a hassle, no pretty water view.
Option three is get takeout and hang out in the backyard. Pros: budget-friendly, fun. No drinking and driving concerns. Cons: not much different than anything we would do with the kids.

So What Happened?

We went with option #1 and it was so nice! The waitress was around but unobtrusive, the food was good. We will go back again soon. Thanks for your input! I was leaning toward option #2 until I read the responses, and decided to take the "leap of faith" to go to the marina restaurant, and it was great. Thanks again!

The water option sounds romantic and how will you ever know if the food and service are good if you dont try it. And if its not - you wont even notice! You'll be too busy romancing. The company is the most important part.

Option 1, definitely. Sounds wonderful!!! With option 2 you would arrive at the restaurant all stressed from traffic. Not a fun way to start your date =-)

My husband and I are doing a combo of your #1 and #3.

Saturday night is our date night and it’s going to be a gorgeous night. We will have blankets, take out food, a bottle of wine and going to our favorite spot at the beach. It’s a grassy hill on a cliff overlooking the water and we’ll have a great view of the sunset.

Have fun tonight!!!

Another vote for the #1. Maybe it'll be your new 'place'!

Have fun!

(Have a picnic outside with the kids tomorrow night!)

Option 1. The only water I get to look at is a lake and as nice as it is I would so prefer the ocean. And you won't know about the food until you try it. Maybe look on-line for some coupons so if it is bad you won't be out as much money.

It really depends on your mood... personally, today, the backyard sounds the most appealing to me! But I've been really busy and really stressed, so a relaxed evening at home sounds great to me! Maybe hang out in the back yard and lay on a blanket... play a game... cuddle and talk. Sounds lovely... I wish tonight were date night for me!

Option One. If it is crummy food, then you know, but it may just be the best you've ever eaten! If nothing else, you know the atmosphere will help you get lucky later this evening ;)...

I would choose the first option. Even if the food/service isn't up to your standards you can still have the great company, view, and perhaps a slow, romantic walk along the water front after dinner. Mmmmmm..... I want a date with my hubby like that. :)

My husband and i usually do option #3 :) Our kids are 15, 14, 9 and 6....so they can occupy themselves inside with a movie and snacks. It is heaven, especially on nice weather nights! We bring the bottle of wine out and sit and talk/laugh!

Option #1

Just go online and the restaurant probably has a website. Check out their menu or the reviews of that restaurant online.
