Where to Go for Allergy Testing?

Does anyone know of a good allergy specialist in or near the Palatine area? And what type of allergy testing did they do (scrapes/injections)? I'd love to find someone who is good with kids and adults. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

What can I do next?

Years ago, I saw Dr. Klein in Hoffman Estates. He did scraping on my son. I had a good experience with him.
I read later on, he is the leading Allergy spechialist here in Chicagoland.
I don't have his number anymore, you would have to Google him.
Good luck

Dr. Timothy Brown in Barrington. He is in one of the buildings within the Good Shepard complex. I have taken my 3 1/2 yr old there several times and he is great with him. The first time we went in they tested my son for allergies by pushing on his back with 6 prog plastic thing, that was sort of like tiny needles.

Another recommendation for Bob Hart, MD. He has several offices, but we saw him at the one near Good Shephard hospital in Barrington. ###-###-####. He's great with kids. Was very nice to my daughter, making some fun jokes, and was very nice to her. They have a tv and video with kids movies to watch while you wait for the scratch test to react. I highly recommend them.

Hi A.-
Not sure if this is convenient for you, but I have lots of experience with Associated Allergists. They're on Central in Arlington Hts ###-###-####), and on the grounds of Good Shepherd in Barrington ###-###-####).
I have been going there for over 14 years for my own allergy treatment. My two girls did not seem to get my allergy genes, but my #3 child did. My son Casey (4.5 yrs old) sees Dr. Brown when available. He's not in those offices very frequently, so it's harder to get in to see him. Dr. Brown is a young Dr, great with kids. When I can't get him, I take my son to my Dr. which is Dr. Hart. He's in his late 50's - very kind, but not as "pediatric" as Dr. Brown. It's easy for me to take my son to see Dr. Hart however, since he's my allergist, and I already have a relationship with him.
They'll determine what kind of testing to do. Casey has had blood tests, and skin tests mostly. He's had injections in his upper arm once or twice, which actually went fine. They advise using some numbing cream before you come in for injections, and then the kids really can't feel anything. The nurses there are sooo wonderful- they are all so sweet to the kids.
Casey is deathly allergic to wheat. He's also allergic to some other foods, animals, and the environmental standards like grass, trees, mold, etc. Just like Mom, unfortunately.
Best of luck to you.

Dr. Timothy Voll is a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and Nutrition Response Tester. The last is a form of muscle testing that has worked miracles for myself and my infant son. He's not in Palatine - he's in Highland Park, but I make the drive up there all the way from Elk Grove Village because it's completely worth it. No guessing games, no "I hope this vitamin works" - it's exact and precise and VERY accurate.

I have seen Dr. Hart. He has an office in Arlington Heights ###-###-####. I had the prick test done on both my forearms. Not too bad. I have not had to take my children there, so I really don't know how he is with kids. He came highly recommended to me by my sister-in-law. Good luck to you!

He is awesome! The practice has worked with me and my daughter since we found out about her allergies at 8 months old.
