Hi Mamas,
Just wondering if anyone knows where we might be able to feed ducks in the West Plano/North Carrollton area.

hi L.. we take our four year old...well its been since he was one, over right beside christie elementary..it is on rainier/parker. there is a huge play park and jogging/bike trails as well as a lake..there are tons of duck families there and are always wanting fed. we just sit on the bank and bring them bread from home..it is fun to watch and the kids love it. the ducks will sometimes eat it out of your hand. the lake itself i think is called chisolm trails or big lake? it is great.

On the weekends you can feed the ducks at Plano Senior High School- Independence and Park Blvd. There is also a park that runs behind SChiemelfinig Library that has tons...several ways to get there....it is between Parker and Spring Creek just east of Custer road. One way- Go east on Parker Road past Custer...there is a light about 2-3 blocks down (can't remember the street but it is the only light before Alma)take a left and just drive- you will see the park on your left. OR you can take Custer North towards Spring Creek...you will see the library on your right before Spring Creek- take a right there and follow the road around. Again you will see the park but it will be on your left this time. The Ducks are usually near the middle of the park. They'e been there about 25 years. : )

I might be a little off here geographically, but at the intersection of Spring Valley and Marsh (I think) is the Panda Energy Building and right across the street from it, the Geico Building.
Back behind the Panda building is a small park that has picnic tables, benches, and ducks/birds to feed. I go there for lunch all the time.
EDIT:
I think I got my buildings mixed up-they renamed both of those office buildings at that intersection, it's the one that is on the Southeast corner of Spring Valley and Marsh...Thanks Wendy for the head's up!

There is an absolutely fabulous little pond off of Hebron?Park.... It is getting closer to lewisville but not too bad. Take Hebron going west until you get to 121 then start looking. I believe it is the second street on the right. There is a unitarian church on the left and a community pool on the right (plus a golf course). Right after the pool turn right on the first street. Go to the stop sign go right and then take next right to circle around to the park parking. There are ducks, fish and turtles. It is quite fun to feed there. We always have a blast. Plus they have a covered picnic area and a nice little park. It is fun. Hope that helps and you have a great time....

There are ducks at Josey and Peters Colony on the SE corner. There is a little pond there. They have recently been reconstructing it, so I hope that they are still there!
