Where to Buy Moving Boxes?
We have to move and I am wondering where the cheapest place is to buy moving boxes. I can't seem to find anyone who has moved recently so I am wondering if any of you have purchased moving boxes. And if so, is there a cheaper place to go than a moving company?

I got mine from craigslist. People want to get rid of boxes so they offer them for free if you come pick them up.

Look on craigslist. (www.craigslist.com)People post free moving boxes all the time. Also, you can go to your local grocery store and ask them in the produce section for apple & orange boxes.

Unless you have a reason to buy boxes...call your local grocery stores or bigger stores to put aside boxes. They are always helpful especially if you can catch them on delivery day before they crush them. It's always worked for me, and I usually end up with more than I need. Wal-mart, Fry's, Basha's, etc.

U-Haul sells boxes but I'm not sure how much they charge. I've also seen moving boxes at Walmart and Home Depot. It's always great to get free boxes but I have a caveat on that. Last time my family moved, we got boxes from my MIL who had also recently moved. Apparently she had stored the boxes in her garage until we used them and when we moved to our new home, we brought along a TON of silverfish in the cardboard! Obviously the silverfish weren't visible before the move or we wouldn't have used the boxes, but once we were got all of our belongings here, they started to come out. Ick.
Best of luck with your move! :)

Lisa,
We live in Surprise and I have a lot of boxes you could have if you want to pick them up. We operate a business out of our home and have mainly large boxes. Call my cel ###-###-#### and we can set up a time.

We got ours from the U-Haul store. Also, ask stores when they get shipments in and see if they will save some for you.

Dont buy, go to your nearest Costco if you are a member and ask the morning merchandising manager if they can put aside some for you to pick up when they first open. Hopefully they will be nice and do so. If you want to buy nice boxes Costco.com sales them with all the packaging material and its not to pricey.
