Where Can I rent-A-Barbie (Real Person)?

My daughter is having a Barbie themed birthday party next month and I thought it would be a neat idea if I can have someone drop by that resembles Barbie (preferably someone in their 20s). Any ideas on where I can go? I've tried googling it and I can't seem to find a place that I can rent one from. We are in the western suburbs of Chicago.

Follow-up: We aren't having her party at our house, and I love the idea of contacting our local high school!

Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you so much for all your suggestions, we ended up with an awesome Barbie!!! She's a teacher at our local high school and she was great and so well worth it.

When I asked my daughter what was the best part of the party, she said "Talking to and taking pictures with Barbie". She then informed me that she loved her pretty pink pom-pom dress. I said "pom-pom dress" and she said she heard Barbie tell me that it was her POM dress (prom dress).

If you live in or around Naperville, Bolingbrook or Downers Grove IL and are intested in hiring Barbie for a Barbie themed birthday, please send me a personal email me and I can email you back a couple pictures and give you her number.

Perhaps you can put an add out on Craigslist or put an add up at a college or highschool. Put that you'd like a blonde outgoing female to be Barbie for a birthday party. Or perhaps you can even go to the drama classes of the college or high school or local theaters.

Why not try the drama department at the high school?
Our girl that played Belle was in demand after the play and did this. She would go dressed in her costume as Belle and be at the little girls' birthday parties. She really just helped the mom and stayed only a little while.
She also got volunteer hours for her HS diploma. You could actually pay someone to do it.
I thought at the time it was a great idea and I still do. Our Belle is studying drama in a NC University on a scholarship. These kids of outings help them remain in character.

Check with modeling and talent agencies. Just be sure to specify that you want someone that is good with children. Sounds super fun!

I know this doesn't in any way answer your question, but I was perusing party stuff online and saw this & it reminded me of your Barbie post. You might be able to find some other great ideas here for your party. I love the photo booth!

I have no idea where but this is the cutest idea! I LOVED Barbie as a girl and have only boys(so far) but I think you're the best mom for doing this...

We have used an actor from the North Central College Theater department-located in Naperville as a pirate for one of our business ventures. He was awesome, and we were also going to use a female to play a princess-but one of the other business owners had found someone in her company to play the princess. She was okay but not an actress by any stretch. The guy stole the show because is he very, very talented.

There are extremely talented young adults in the theater department at this college!!

The guy that we used (whom I know personally from our church) had several suggestions for us for females from the drama department to play our princess.

You can contact the drama department and they can help you. I would suggest the Musical Theater department, since the students are multi talented in acting, singing and dancing. Plus as college kids- they can always use extra cash!!

Hope this helps!

Haha, I'm almost tempted to give you my sister's phone # -- we call her "Tour Guide Barbie" because she is gorgeous and knows her way around the Chicagoland area better than 90% of the people who grew up here :)

Sounds like a fun party!
