Where Can I Find Shorts This Time of Year?

My football player son has outgrown most of his shorts in the past week. He needs a boys size 18 or mens 28/29 and they have to be those longer cargo shorts. I am having a hard time finding some without spending a fortune. There are slim pickings this time of year. I checked ebay and there's not much there (he will not wear plaid shorts). Even though most of those are used, they still want at least $10-$12 plus about $5 shipping. I am willing to pay a little more since I can hand them down, but $15 for used shorts! I was hoping to pay that for new ones. Kohls is having an online sale and the only pair I found was $40 (not on sale). Any ideas?

Thanks!
M.

Just a thought, not sure if you're up for it, but..Check out the online yahoo groups (Freecycle). There's one in your area. What you do is post what you're looking for and if anyone has that to give away, they'll give you what they have. Basically, this is a site that people give stuff away rather than selling it or throwing it out to save the landfills from getting cluttered.

The other option is to post what you're looking for on Craigslist if you're willing to pay for the shorts. You might just find something on there.

I went shopping last week, and hit the sales racks at every store - Kohl's, Penney's, etc... I got great deals on summer clothes - shirts for $5, shorts and swim trunks for men at Kohls were $10-$15.

I would suggest the second hand stores. It is amazing what you can find there. You will need to go with a lot of time as you have to go thru racks and racks. But I have found stuff in new and sometimes brand new with tags. I buy very little clothing at name brand stores for my younger son. He is 14 in 8th grade. and is dressed just as cool as the other kids. only difference is I don't spend $30 on the jeans I spend $3. good luck

Lands End(www.landsend.com) has a ton(I just looked). You can usually find an online code for free shipping too!

Hi M., Boy can I relate!! They always grow out of things so fast! Have you checked St. Vincent's & Goodwill? You might be surprised. Also, I know Penny's online has an outlet & clearance section, you might find them there or at Sears, Old Navy online or TJ Maxx & Marshall's stores. I know the latter two have saved me when I've searched high & low because my baby outgrew her snowsuit in January and all the stores had resort wear! They had 2 snowsuits & thank Heaven one fit! I think all moms relate. Good luck I hope you find something for him.
