What are some things - silly or serious - that are hang-ups that never fail to have you asking yourself "when will I ever learn"?!

-that I'll never feel like working out, but if I can at least get my shoes on, mat out, etc I'll feel so much better!

-it's always worth the time it takes to touch base with a friend.

-that I will never regret pushing through the already long day to prepare/pack us for the next day, because once I sit down, that's IT. Not gonna want to get back up!

-deal with errands, bills, etc as soon as I think of them so I don't forget

-pre-check laundry for stains

-listen more, talk less----waaaay less.

-spending DS's naptime on Mampedia = the shower window will close for the day. lol

when you do - please let me know how you did it!!! :)

if it's not written down - I forget it!! Lose track of time and "push it" aside - like right now - my laundry is in the laundry room and it's not washing itself!! :)

I too need to talk less and listen more!!! I will work on this one!!!

Have a great day!! You are not alone!

-that I will lose a whole morning to the computer and esp this site!

-the one time I leave the laundry room door open the dog will get in and find a shoe to ruin.

Good question!

- to sleep when my kids do, instead of trying to do everything else (i've slept a total of, maybe, 9hours in the last two days)

- that I'm not invisible, and can NOT walk through walls (i'm always smacking my shoulders into them haha)

- That there is never enough phone minutes to talk to my family as much as I want to

- That some people aren't worth the effort

- that I need to actually EXERCISE to get in shape, and not just think about it haha

It's odd that I still struggle (I am getting better) with procrastinating about things (bills, paperwork, forms, phone calls), yet I have TOTALLY learned to "seize the moment" when it comes to my son....I now refuse to say "Oh...we'll stop and look at that O. of these days" or "On a day when we have nothing to do we WILL xyz" etc. I just want to encourage an exploring/curious spirit in him so I pull over at the drop of a hat to "check things out"!

Well, I have a bunch but I can't remember right now, which is probably why I keep telling my self: "When will I ever learn?".
But here are some I remember:
-To say what I need to say before I forget, or to write it down.
-To don't wait until some stuff is complete done before buy new ones (specially toilet paper!)
-To read before I send my answers, so I don't say "sweat" instead of "sweet"
-To stop thinking my husband will always know what I want for my birthday and if I really want something I should just say so
-That there is a reason those pretty shoes look so new, because they hurt!!
-That when my teen tells me: "You don't get it", some times she is right, and I don't always need to get it (she still have to respect us and I still love her, tho)
-That is a lie that I can eat everything on weekends because I exercise during week, lol.

I guess I remember more then I thought, so why I keep doing them? lol.

That boys- Little and Big will never ever know where their socks are.

Check ALL pockets before throwing jeans in the wash- seriously how many times can you wash a wallet?

If you leave the dogs in your room they are going to eat things you dont want eaten-

Your family will never change no matter how much you want them too or how hard you try to "make peace" Every time you end up feeling terrible stop trying to fix it.

procrastination.
When will I learn that avoiding the sink full of dishes takes more energy than just doing the damn dishes!
When will I learn not to put things off? How many times do I have to learn that avoiding unpleasant things makes them grow into worse things? When will I learn that the longer I put something off the bigger it gets and if I just would handle it and get it over with, it's going to be a weight off my mind? How many times do I have to learn the hard way to just face my problems head on.

I adore all of the Mama's saying that they constantly bump into walls, too. That is something about myself that I have always been self-conscious about.

Also, yes, those pretty shoes in the closet are pretty and un-scuffed because they hurt & every time I wear them I swear I'm going to throw them away at the end of the night.

When I make up a dinner & it turns out fantastic, WRITE IT DOWN because I will otherwise never be able to recreate it.

Do NOT wait until Christmas Eve to wrap all of the presents! It is miserable being locked in my bedroom alone the entire day when I really just want to hang out with my family!!

The gas light in my car is not really a gentle reminder, it means she needs a drink right now and she absolutely will go on strike no matter where we are or how much I beg if I don't take care of it immediately.

LOL AT YOUR LAST ONE... I'm doing this right. this. second ;)

Mine is I always feel the need to eat 3 fresh bagels when I buy them, because hey, they never taste the same the next day do they? I always get mad at myself after the fact.

If you tell me about something going on and I don't IMMEDIATELY write it on my calendar, it doesn't exist. Chances are I will forget about it between here and the kitchen if you don't physically see me write it down too.

Stop waiting until first thing in the morning to make coffee. This is how black tar coffee is made, because I can't count the scoops without, you guessed it, a cup of coffee first. Do it the night before!!

And lastly, I always manage to wait until the very last second when I have to pee... it NEVER fails, that there WILL BE a child in there going #2 while singing some song, and I practically pee everywhere while trying to hold my breath.

[facepalm]

;)

My biggest one is to stop putting things away for safe keeping!! I make them super safe and we can never find them!! RIght now it's my daughter's (almost 8) 6 month picture. I have all of my kids milestone pictures in new frames and want to hang them up - but I'm missing her 6 month picture. When I took it out we were too poor for another frame, and I needed to get my youngest son's newborn picture up...so now I'm on a mad hunt for where I safely put it!

Also learning when to be quiet and just listen. BIG one for me!! But I am getting better.

And learning to change my reaction to things I cannot change :).

I will, apparently, never learn to spell the word "definately" correctly. I look it up, correct it, and write it wrong again. It drives me crazy.

I will never learn I can not keep the stools to our dinner table on the floor when we are not eating. I will put something on the back of the counter for safe keeping i.e. my ginger ale or a snack i have been nibbling on. I go to the bathroom to pee or shower or just to get away and without fail, my three year old has moved a stool to climb up on the counter to get it. I have stopped yelling. I cant figure out not to leave them down. He gets his time out and away he goes...doing it again.

I also will never learn to put the darn bandaids away. Again my three year old loves to decorate himself. With band aids. He will find them, out or in the first aid drawer. the next thing i know he is covered in them. I had to stop buying the cute expensive ones for this reason.
