When to Test!
I know you should take a pregnancy test with your first morning's urine, but what if you are getting up in the middle of the night to pee? My sleep schedule has been way off this past week and I have been up at all hours of the night (really getting old!) and every time I get up I pee before attempting to go back to sleep. We are on our first month off the pill TTC. My period is due the 8th or 9th. I tested this morning and I saw a very faint line. (i know, i know a day or 2 early but it's so hard to wait!!) Went back to the store for more tests and will test again tomorrow or Friday!

If you can't make it until the morning, try to go atleast 4 hours. I ran into that similar problem with my son. I drank a regular glass of water at around 11pm and woke up around 4am and was able to get a positive...a week before my period was due. Be sure not to drink too much water because you may dilute your urine. I heard somewhere that the concentration of the hormone is elevated at around 4 hours of no voiding.
Good luck!

It doesn't matter how faint the line is... A line's a line -- as long as it's pink or blue (whatever the test color is -- grey lines are likely evaporation lines and not indicative of a positive result).
First morning urine will have the most concentrated amount of the hormone the test detects, so you might get an accurate result earlier with it, but it's not necessary. I got a positive in the evening at like 9 DPO. Of course I didn't believe it and took 8 more tests over the next several days... :)
Good luck!

I would test in the middle of the night when you wake up. I've always tested before my period was due and not always with the first morning pee. The tests have always been positive, even with a very faint line. The lack of sleeping over the past week, for me anyway, would be a sure sign of pregnancy. It was my inability to sleep through the night and having to wake up to pee, that made me test in the first place.

Wait to test until you actually miss your period. Many times we're pregnant before a period but the pregnancy doesn't take and it passes with what we think is a normal period. Just wait. The early pregnancy tests really are too early. There's no harm in waiting.
