When Do You Un-decorate from Christmas?

I'm sure un-decorate is not a word, but it's late and I'm just curious.

We typically take everything down the day after Christmas. I'm sure we will this year because we are off. As much as I love the decorations and everything, it takes a lot of room and I'm always ready for my house back.

Oddly enough, I'm normally over the stuff all over the house by now, but this year I'm not - maybe because it's been SO busy...but I'm still loving it :).

So do you take things down the day after or wait a little longer?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Well I feel like a scrooge! LOL - kidding :). I'm always so ready for Christmas that it goes up early...and when it's over I'm ready to get back to our normal lives, which is crazy busy.

I tihnk if we don't do it when we have a day off, it would never get done :).

Fake tree and strings of lights around the house stay up til the end of January. It's so dark and grey outside that the lights inside make me feel warm and happy. The wreathe on the front door stays up til March. I take the red bow off after Christmas.

We wait until after January 7th... since that's Orthodox Xmas... and it just seems unfair to me to pull down things earlier.

I tend to get mine up a little later than many people do (still not done...). I like to keep them up through the 12 days of Christmas, so they stay until at least January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany.

Definitely a case of "There's no 'right' way to do it!"

I usually wait until the 12th day of Christmas (Jan 5th) or the weekend thereafter. :)

We take down the Christmas stuff after New Year's.
Most people do that, in my State.

And, since *I* am the only one that takes down and puts the Christmas things away, well, I do it when I want to.

First week of January is the goal, but as long as it's done by Mardi Gras, it's good.

I think most people do this the day before New Year's Eve....some people seem to keep lights up outside all year long.

I think what ever floats your boat...just make sure your tree is not creating a fire hazard.

Blessings....
