When Did You Find Out the Gender?

I am dying to know what this baby will be, I am about 16-17 wks(can never keep track, maybe more) When did you find out what your baby will be through ultrasound?

What can I do next?

Third and final child at 20week ultrasound just in case I was going to have any unexpected feelings about gender. I wanted them out of the way before the birth.

15 weeks! That's when you can "officially find out. By the way, make sure you drink all the water they tell you; it helps to see the baby. I'm on baby #4 and I can't wait!! So believe me.....I know how you feel. Good luck!

From what I've found (in 3 pregnancies, 2 different dr's) is most dr's wait until around 20 weeks. Some dr's will do a bit earlier, but most of my friends all had to wait till 20 weeks as well. They do a lot of measuring at that stage, being the 1/2 way mark so that' usually when it's checked. Have fun, that's one thing I will for sure miss!

18 weeks rings a bell for me. (My son's only 6 months old but my memory went out the door as soon as I got preggo!) More power to those who have the willpower to wait until the baby is born to find out what it is, but I couldn't wait!

17 weeks they did a quick lookie and at 20 they confirmed! Good luck!!

When my son was born! My husband and I wanted to wait and be surprised.

Usually you can find out at the ultrasound or sonagram scheduled at about 5 mos.

I know my docter, He is a friend so I got an ultrasound everytime I went in. So I found out when I was 15 weeks, then went back in @ 19 weeks and she said for sure what I was having. But they say if you are thinner it is easier to tell early on.

Hi Maria,
Congratulations on your pregancy. It is pretty exciting to have another baby. I have two and am now done. I found out the gender of the first baby when I was 16 weeks pregnant. The second one I had an amnio and so found out at 13 weeks. I think that by 16 weeks they can usually see if it is a boy. If it is a girl they can not always tell. If you go for the 3D ultrasound you would be able to find out now.
