Whats up with Hemoroids?
What can you do to get rid of them and why do I have them?
So What Happened?™
Thank you so much for all the feedback. I think I will first try witchhazel and maybe tucks med pads first to see if that helps, then maybe the sitz bath. I drink water all day long and I try to eat things with whole wheat & fiber, but it just doesn't seem to be enough. Thanks again for all the help!

Lots of extra fiber and water-water-water- also I got them with my first son and since found a nutritional supplement that I took with my second called OPC-3 through market america. I took that and an aloe juice and my hemoroids disappeared! I was very happy and since then, market america has produced a prenatal isotonic vitamin! VERY good. If you want I can send you the information on it. Just email me at ____@____.com.

Because you are prego! Isn't it fun??
You can't "get rid" of them, but you can try to make them feel better. You can use the Tucks witch hazel pads and sit in a bath with epsom salt. They will go down and not be painful, but they might be there for the remainder of your pregnancy. I had a nasty one with my first son but came out of my second pregnancy all clear. You want to increase fiber in your diet. Constipation/hard stool is usually the culprit. /sorry, good luck!

So uncomfortable. Add more fiber and water to your diet. Also, use lotions or cooling creams for the area when uncomfotable. It is temporary in most cases when pregnant. Sometimes a few minor changes in your diet .....say less meat, no spicey foods or carbonated drinks .... can help tremendously!
Hang in there.

You have hemorrhoids because without them pregnancy would just be too much fun.
My friend swears by this cream called Ziro which she got from www.zenmed.com, says it works really well for anal fissures as well. It's supposed to be all natural and is expensive ($35 + shipping) but according to her totally worth it. By all means do all the other stuff too, drinking water and getting more fiber in your diet etc, so you don't get more but this stuff is supposed to work like magic to get rid of the ones you already have. (Check with your OB/Midwife and make sure he/she thinks it's okay for pregnancy.)
If you try it let us all know. So far I've been spared that discomfort (I certainly ended up with plenty of others) but am not safe until the baby is out.

If you read Adelle Davis' "Let's Have Healthy Children", she talks about some of the non-optimum side-effects of pregnancy, like hemmoroids, varicose veins, stretch marks, morning sickness, and the fact that this is usually a deficiency, like Vitamin E and so on.
You can also see a nutritionist who can help you naturally with a solution - Dr. Susan Player in Clearwater is EXCELLENT, and so is the Natural Health Improvement Center in Tampa.
I had hemmoroids at the tail end of my pregnancy and into the first week after delivery, a nutritional supplement totally handled it 100%, quickly and easily.

Oh honey, do I remember this well!! It was the last couple months w/ me. Awful. I tried most everything-Alfalfa-water-fiber-tucks,etc. Sitting on the toliet is when it got worst. They DID go away after the baby came. It took a week or so. Tucks felt great after the baby came & helped now that all that pressure was gone down there. The sheer weight of the baby gone helped big time. Hang in there! I have felt your frustration.....

I just had my first baby boy on aug 1st! and thru the birthing experience i got my first hemrroid. Witch Hazel totally did the trick. Put it on a round cotton pad, place it on the area for a min. or 2 every time u go to the bathrm. Also use baby wipes instead of toilet paper. Can put the witch hazel on the wipe too. It worked for me. good luck!
