What "Weird" Food Do You Eat?
Hi Moms, I posted on Facebook that I was eating a cheese and pickle sandwhich with mayo. I am NOT preggo! Needless to say, I got a lot of responses about how weird that was! Which made me wonder what kind of "weird" food do you or your family like to eat (whether you're pregnant or not!)?
So What Happened?™
Thanks moms! I do have to say the raw hamburger comments actually made me gag! :o)
Edit: Mamapedia ovbiously posted this on the home page since I've gotten another 40 responses today (July 13)! These sound pretty interesting, thanks for posting!

I won't eat pancakes without peanut butter on them. Now my kids do it too. I prefer chunky, they like creamy. My husband & FIL like syrup or honey on their biscuits and gravy. I used to like Fritos dipped in pimento cheese but that sounds yucky now :)

I like tomato sandwiches (two slices bread spread with miracle whip, tomato slices, salt & pepper). I also like cottage cheese w/bananas sliced on top. My son makes meat sandwiches and puts cheetos or doritos on top and then places the second slice of bread on top of the cheetos or doritos and squishes it all down then eats it. Yum.

To the other mom -I LOVE lettuce sandwiches with a few dill pickle slices and yellow mustard! Your son is not alone!
I also love to take a boiled egg and cover it with yellow mustard, then mash it up in a bowl of grits. My dad taught me this, and we've always loved it! My kids aren't into it yet, but I keep holding out hope....

I love ham and banana sandwiches. Just two slices of bread, a little bit of butter, a slice of deli ham, and a cut up banana. Yum! :)
My mom makes really good fried apples... I thought these were normal until my boyfriend was over for dinner and he was basically like 'What the hell are these? Fried apples? Who makes fried apples?' Lol.
Also, whenever I have brown beans or baked beans (Whatever you want to call them) instead of using a spoon or fork I scoop them up with a potato chip and eat it like that.

My daughter's favorite sandwich is white cheese and LOADED with black olives. FINALLY, the guy at Subway makes it with plenty of olives!! No condiments on it either.
My husband grosses us out...... when I come home from the butcher shop with ground beef, he will eat it raw. YUCK I keep telling him he will get sick but so far in 25 yrs he has not.

Can't think of a "different" way of preparing food that we like but my son likes--ever since pre-k--lettuce sandwiches. A chunk of iceberg lettuce between 2 sliced of bread, no mayo or other condiment. At first boys in his class thought it was weird but then he shared one day and 3 other boys had it also. Now he will add a slice of ham but still no mayo or anything and a big chunk of lettuce.

When I was little I would put ketchup on my mashed potatos and mac N cheese, I would also dip a chimichanga in soft serve ice cream. I havent done that in a while but I do like to dip my corndogs in oreo cookie ice cream. All this is done while not pregnant. Oh and my mom liked peanutbutter and onion sandwhiches (yucky). =)

But the one that grosses people out... sauerkraut & avocado. Specifically I like Rubens with avocado.
And TOO delicious to be weird: reeeally hot frenchfries dipped in icy cold chocolate shake.

HI F.,
I don't know why cheese and pickle would be weird...it's simply a sandwich without the meat....My children think I'm crazy because I eat baby arugula out of the container...no dressing. I think it's fairly normal if it tastes good!

I'm so glad to see others mention french fries in ice cream! I love it! And, I put chocolate pieces (M&M, reeses, junior mints, whatever) in my hot popcorn at the theater--it's great when you find that perfect chocolate-coated piece of popcorn! I don't see anything wrong with cheese & pickle sandwich--I love avocado sandwiches (bread, sliced avocado, splash of salt & pepper). I also prefer peanut butter & honey (rather than jelly). Oh, and I also used to sneak bites of ground beef (slightly browned)--my mom would eat full bites with a bit of salt. Now that I am an educated scientist--I will NOT eat undercooked meat!! YUK!
I say, to each his own!
