I just found out a few hours ago that my husband is taking me (no kids) on a cruise to the Bahamas next week for Christmas/Anniversary! I am SO excited, but it's my first cruise and I don't know what to pack. It's Monday-Saturday. Any suggestions??? rescheduling until after the baby is not an option!

What can I do next?

How fun! In addition to the shorts and tops I would pack at least one dressy outfit. There's usually a Captain's Dinner which you dress up for. Take comfortable shoes as well for the shore excursions. I agree with the last poster about not going on every shore trip. But if one the islands you stop at is St. Thomas- I recommend you definitely go ashore. Charlotte- Amille is BEAUTIFUL. That is my favorite spot in the Bahamas. (I've been to the Bahamas six times since I was 13). The town is wonderful and there's a beach called Meagan's Bay- it's one of the top ten beaches in the world. I would live on that beach if I could. Like the last poster said- sunscreen and aloe vera are a good idea. Maybe take a hat or two to shield your face from the sun and a sweatshirt too- sometimes it can get a little chilly on the deck in the evening. Other then that swimsuit, shorts, t shirts- you should be good to go. One last suggestion- try to get up early enough to watch the ship come into port one morning. It's awesome. congratulations and have fun! I'm so jealous!

You won't need to bring too many of your own towels (except beach towels) because they give you new ones every day (at least ours did at Royal caribbean). Hopefully that will lessen your things to pack. Bring the usual- sunblock, aloe vera in case you get burnt (i did and we had to buy a $10 bottle on board!). You won't need that much cash for ON the boat since they charge everything to an account which they will take out of a cc at the end of your trip. You will need cash for places you visit though.
Don't go on EVERY excursion... I would spend at least one day just relaxing, esp with you being pregnant. We just went on one excursion and that was enough for us.

Enjoy! Usually your cruise company will give you a brochure ahead of time that will explain what dress is needed. If you eat in the main dining hall, some dinners are formal and some are casual. I brought a lot of sundresses for the evening with sandals. Don't worry about an iron, because you can send your clothes to the in house cleaners just for a press, and it is reasonable. No towels are needed, we even took the cruise towels with us on excursions. Hat and sunblock are definitely needed.

With one on the way, i'd ask him to wait until the third child is born so that you can enjoy the cruise more. Then, you will not need to pack an anti nausia medicine. Sorry to be pesimistic. I'm jealous, really. Very thoughtful of your husband. I'm sure you will be fine, but bring some Saltines. LOL!
