Hello ~ seeking your help :) I work with a single guy who has a hand-ful of nieces and nephews and every year he asks for ideas for Christmas. I don't mind ~ I have 2 boys and can usually help him. But this year I am stuck...I don't have any ideas for an 8 year old girl. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Klutz Chicken Socks has a little letter writing kit called "Little Letters." My dd loves it. It is great for learning how to write letters and has stationary, note cards, envelopes, little notes to fold and seal, stencils to make fold and seal cards, stickers and more.

They also sell a refill pack for it with cards, envelopes and small fold and seal notes.

A diary could be a good choice for a stocking stuffer, also.

My daughter loved one of those square potholder looms with the colorful loops. Once she figured it out, she whipped out potholders like crazy and really loved it. I had one when I was a kid and loved it, so this is one toy that has stood the test of time.

Hi :0)

I would get something like a bead kit, clothes, books, gift certificates, fingernail polish, or barbies (loved barbies when I was this age!!).

Anything to make them feel a bit more grown up, like a purse or a shoulder bag; accessories! like hats and scarves are popular; nail polish - there's this kind that's hot this year that once you put it on it looks like it's all cracked. It's really cool but definitely a splurge at $8/bottle. Also, assorted flavored lip glosses/ chapstick - that's always a hit, and fancy pens and note pads were always something that my girls asked for.
Merry Christmas!!

Beading kits and arts and crafts are usually a hit. Think Shrinky Dinks or Friendship bracelets. My eight year old daughter is into Littlest Pet Shops and any of those small plastic animal type of toys.

My daughter turns 8 soon... I got this electronic diary thing from Target (one of her friends has one). It has a "secret" pen that writes with invisible ink and you have to shine a special light on it to see the writing. It's voice activated with a password to open... VERY secret :)

I also got her a friendship bracelet making kit, and drawing materials. She loves to draw... so new tablet, colored pencils etc...

Gift cards are really fun for kids at this age because they can choose what they want. They love it.
