What to Do with Cracked 32" LCD Tv

Our 32" LCD flat screen tv got a crack in the screen and I am not sure what to do. You can't even tell when it's off but when on, the screen has a spiderweb crack over it. Should we repair it? If not, how do I get rid of it?

What can I do next?

We have a 46" Sony LCD TV and "the screen" is actually a protective cover that can be replaced. Don't know if that is the case with yours. We bought the extended warranty because that is one of the things it covers...replacement of scratched/cracked protective cover. I have two boys and was worried about them damaging the screen and the guys at Best Buy said it was an easily replaceable part. Read your owner's manual and see what it says about a damaged screen/cover. Good luck!

Not sure about the repair, but if you check with your local city/township offices they may have a location for you to dispose of it for free or a nominal fee. I know Clarkston/Indepence does and I know certain days of the year they open it up to other specific communities.

Call Best Buy or Sears and see what they suggest.

I would call a tv repair place in the phone book and see how much it would cost versus buying a new one. They may even tell you what to do with it if it's not worth fixing (they may even use it for parts). My sister had her 52" inch screen replaced when my nephew decided to be Superman and flew into it.

D.; its not economically feesable to reapair, as far as my husband knows he said they dont sell those screens as replacements, if it needs to be disposed of, when you are ready to dispose of it, you can see if your local junk yard will take them, we had two tvs get hit by lightning, and had to take them to a junk yard however it may cost like 20 bucks per tv or less to leave at junk yard, unless you find a repair shop that buys tvs? i dont know, hope it goes well for you , D. s
