What to Do About Daughters Teeth

I just did a quick google, and it seems as though permanent teeth being fused like this is pretty rare, and from what I read, it seems like splitting and reshaping and putting a sealant on it until they put in a fake tooth is pretty common. Are the rest of her teeth crooked and that's why she wants to have braces or is it just these fused teeth out of alignment? If it doesnt bother her, you could just do the braces now and then keep searching for someone who might make you feel more comfortable about what to do for the fused teeth.

maybe try a cosmetic dentist-one who specializes in veneers and such.

In Oklahoma when someone has a unique issue with their teeth they can go to O. U. Health Science Center in OKC and get dental work done by the students much cheaper and better due to the work being supervised by the Dentists teacher.

I googled dental colleges in Ohio and this is one I got, please call them and discuss the issue with them. They are the teachers of just about every dentist in your state, who better to give you advice and perhaps refer you to someone in your area or just make an appointment, since this is rare they might even be very glad to use her as an example in class and then fix them for a very minimal cost.

I'm currently a dental student at Ohio State. We've learned about this condition and have been presented with cases many times. I wouldn't say this condition is common but it's definitely not unheard of. I would consult a specialist, either a pediatric dentist or a prostodontist. If you are worried about cost, I recommend contacting the clinic of the nearest dental school if that is feasible. Good Luck!

I have never heard of this but, I can tell you about a great orthodontist to see about another opinion. Dr. Kent Underwood is awesome, great with kids, and VERY up to date on the latest technology and treatments. My sister's son has some rare teeth issues as well and after seeing 2 orthos in their hometown and still unsatisfied, they are now traveling 1 hour for ortho treatment! They love Dr. Underwood! My neice had issues with her canines. One came in sort of deformed (like a dwarf) and the other one just never broke the gumline. They noticed this when she was about 11. SHe is now 18 and she JUST got finished with getting them corrected. They ended up pulling the teeth and putting implants in. It cost alot of money. I recall my neice getting part of the implant done before she got her braces. Then while she had her braces, they gave her a retainer that had 2 face teeth in it...something about while the kid had braces they didnt want the fake teeth to have the brace on them (maybe they wont stay...not sure) She had her braces on for like 4 or 5 years. I think more her fault for braking the brackets and issues with paying for them on her mom and dads side and she had a terrible underbite they had to get under control. Anyway after the braces came off, the compled the implants of her canines...they look great. Good luck
