What's the Going Rate for Babysitting?

I'd like to know what (young) teenage babysitters are getting paid these days.

I recently looked up the going rate. If you want a day care type of babysitting then aprx. $5-$7.00an hour but personal baby sitting one on one attention, aprx. $8.00-$10.00 an hour. Teenagers cant really charge must because of their experience and they are not certified. I hope that answers your question??

Hi J.,

We pay $9 an hour for a girl who is 13 years old and has taken the Red Cross babysitting class for certification. We have an 18 month old daughter.

I have a 14 year old young lady who babysits when my husband and I go out on dates. I pay her $5.00 an hour for 2 children.
