What's the Best Carpet Stain Remover Product?

Hi Ladies-

The products I've bought to remove stains from my carpet don't seem to work that well. I have to work the solution in really hard to where it gets tiring and it seems to do the trick at least somewhat. But.... then the stain seems to reappear. The most common stains are from the dog... she has a sensitive stomach and throws up bile. Like yellow thick saliva type stuff. And sometimes we'll eat it the family room and we might have a spill once in awhile. (My carpeted area is in the family room and the carpet is thick with a lot of fibers and is light beige.)

If you have tried a specific product and it really makes a difference, please share with me! Thanks so much!!

Some carpet stains can be removed with a paste of 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and 1/4 cup salt or baking soda. Rub into the carpet stain and let dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day. (Always test on an out-of-sight part of the carpet first).

Resista dry carpet and rug cleaning system can be found at Carpet One stores. I think it used to be called Maintain but they changed the name. If it's the same stuff it is awesome and can be used on all carpet colors and will not bleach the carpet like resolve can. HTH!

to get the stain out and to stay out for good, not just for a while, you have to make sure that your vaccum is really good. if there is still dust, sand, etc in your carpet and then you put a liquid on there, it makes mud, so your carpet doesnt really get clean. Make sure you have a very good vaccum, I have a kirby and i wouldnt trade it for the world. I dont know what kind of carpet you have, but once i spilled red candle wax on my dads WHITE berber carpet when i was a teen. super scared cause i knew he'd never forgive me. called my brother because he worked for a furniture cleaning company. He told me to put some powdered laundry detergent in a cup with just enough warm water to make a paste the scrub the carpet with it. It worked like a charm, came right out and my dad never knew what happened! good luck

I've had good luck with Resove carpet cleaner but never had to use it on dog bile so can't say if it would work for that specifically. Have you tried any of the Nature's Miracle products from the pet store? My vet recommends that brand for cleaning up after our kitty.

I'm not sure about your specific stains but I spilled black raspberry juice on my carpet (it looked like a crime scene). I used Spot Shot in the aeresol can and I really can't see the stain today.

I'm in the same boat so I will be watching to see what the suggestions are! I might try some Oxy clean but it is in a very visible area so a little nervous I will ruin it.
